Just got your pm SheriR.
Sent you one back. :) K |
Still waiting to hear back from my partner on an address and what she would like-please contact me!!
|
what is with no responses? I know tumrub had stopped getting mail notifications so she had no clue she had mail but the others? respond people! I can give your address but truthfully I wont. If you wont write them how do they know you will send to them? so please don't send to anyone who is not responding to your emails. possibly send one more then post here your avail for another swap as your partner wont contact you. period.
the mug rug swap is up to 37 people today! wow its going to be a big secret pal swap. just saying if you are interested in that one jump on over to the member swaps and find it its going to be a fun display of talent and happy quilting and they are so small its easy to do those in just an hour or three (three for me an hour for quickies on the sewing machine). as a last note next months swap should be interesting for all. and Decembers swap? oh yeah that will be a busy swap for sure. every time I do one of those the sign ups come in like crazy. so watch for it! |
I had 3 this month (yes, yes I do feel a bit greedy...but only a bit..lol).
Mine are all pressed, folded, wrapped, sealed...and hubby is dropping them at post office in a few hours when he's in town for a Dr appointment. Hope those of you who haven't had replies get them soon... K |

Oh, I forgot to post that I sent mine (2) on Monday! Maybe they will arrive today! Hope you like them, partners!

love those Christmas fabrics you received Jaba. I can see a runner with those easily! show us a picture if you make one its so nice to see what can be done with the fabrics we get. (instead of them sitting nicely on a shelf with all the other fat quarters to see them used is a true pleasure!).

ok sewing question: (idiot of the day) my machine is a brother Csi 6000. I am having trouble with sewing. I start sewing and the machine immediately goes to E6 (thread is tangled) and I pull the fabric which is not easy out of the machine snip the thread.. one stitch on top big tangled mess on the bottom. long threads. have taken apart the bobbin, the bobbin carriage, cleaned inside of machine as best I could no mystery treads stuck in there. put it all back together.. it happens again. and again. I have changed bobbins and top tread. still E6 happens every single time. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? I need to finish an applique and this is not making sewing happen at all. argh.

Received my lovely fqs from SheriR. As always, they're stunning!
Thank you, Sheri! It's overcast here, so the colors don't show up as vibrant as they are. There were lil sugar free candies, they're not pictured, but my Mom says Thanks! http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=494668&stc=1 |
Happy you like what I sent Peginco. I tried to send the types you said you like.
K |

When you start stitching are you using a lil leader piece of cloth? I hate to say this, but I had the Brother CS6000i. And bought 2 Brother PC-420 machines. All 3 of them ended up doing what you describe when I tried doing applique. I was doing the blanket stitch. I finally got one to cripple through by putting stabilizer under it, which I never did use stabilizer. Also the type of fusible you use can mess things up. I love heat and bond. Or I did...but even the "lite" made for sewing, would gum up the needle. I would unthread it, wipe it with a lil alcohol, rethread. It would sew a bit, and I'd have to clean it again. I'm wondering if somewhere inside it's gummed up? Like a part you can't see. If there's a bit of adhesive and a bit of lint, it'll do what you describe. Now I only use steam a seam. And with my Janome and my Juki it's not an issue. I say that eating crow, too.. as I was ALWAYS a "Brother gal". But the last ones I purchased just didn't seem to be made as well. Good luck, Kif |
I found this too, Brat:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...d-t162018.html I just remembered (with hubby's help) that we got a tiny lil brush and I used rubbing alcohol ( not dripping wet) to clean all around the areas I could see. Make sure machine is unplugged of course. (I'm not advocating this either, just saying what I did. I had nothing much to lose, machine wasn't working, taking it in to be repaired would've cost about as much as the machine cost me). It did work, but I still always had to use stabilizer and a fusible that wasn't Heat and Bond. Even with that I had some skipped stitches with the applique blanket stitch. K |
SheriR,
Oops, just saw where you got my fqs, too. Happy you like them, I love the ones you sent! K |
Brat,
Happy you're machine was happy you changed the needle! Such an easy (and cheap) fix! I should've said I changed my needle, too..in addition to wiping it with alcohol pad every few stitches. Even though it was a fusible one could sew through... I try to remember to change out my needle too. Especially since they can "gum up" when using some fusibles, even though they're said not to. And it will wreak havoc with a machine. Anywhose, yours is working again, and that's awesome! K |

I received my swap fabrics from Hairquilt yesterday afternoon. They are fantastic! Thank you so much! There are at least (2) 1/2 yard cuts in those 6fqs along with 6 little cuts of feed sack fabrics and the smidges of other repro's . I love them all! Thanks so much!

Great repros, Tlambing!
I received mine from Peginco, they are beautiful! Lil honest confession..I wasn't sure about cardinals... then I bought some Robert Kaufman Holiday Flourish with cardinals. Well when I opened these today, there's a winter scene with cardinals, it's STUNNING in its simplistic beauty!! I got extras, and the cutest lil ornament handmade by Peg...I'll have to hide it from my lil granddaughter... It's still overcast here, so the vibrancy and metallic "oomph" doesn't come thru, but it's there... Here's a pic: http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=494733&stc=1 Kif |
I tried to get a better pic, even with extra light and flash, it's not the best..but it's better:

Received mine today from SheriR and they are wonderful. When I saw the other pics I was hoping she was going to send me the same things and she did, another new table runner is going to happen.
Decided this year that I am definately going to do projects with these each month, ...started a runner today, not done but a peek for you to see. Thank you again SheriR, these are beautiful and the little extra's, oops 1 candy already gone. New table runner started today and made this pin cushion and scrap bag too from other "fat's" that I had |
Nice new projects you've made Jaba.

Glad you liked them Sheri.
Bullock those look like fun fabrics, I love the look of the ribbon one. Is there a name on the salvage or Nancy can you tell me where you found it? |
I was thinking the same thing Jaba. I love that ribbon fabric but heck I could gladly steal one from each and every pile you guys would never notice. I am in love love love with the red with golds I am seeing. OMG would those fabrics be great in a tree skirt. My daughter wants a red and gold tree skirt and look at the variety shown here. I am in fabric envy I truly am :) keep posting your pics just seeing them reminds you.. oh darn wouldn't that make a great... for so and so. I think its idea central here.
