I just ordered an item my SP collects and it will be shipped directly to her. I'd never even heard of them, so I hope what I purchased will please her.

Probably me Belfrybar, you have had me several times and I do believe you have ordered off my list if I am not mistaken

verna2197 10-02-2015 01:47 PM

Sorry belfrybat misspelled your name

catjo 10-02-2015 03:54 PM

I also now do the amazon list Verna gave me the idea and it works so well. On another note I have actually mailed my SP's package out today. Can you believe it? I had a lot of her likes and I went to Joann's today for the sale and picked up what was listed on her wish list. Off in the mail it went. Expected delivery Monday!!!!! Going South East of me. She has pet babies and I have never had her before. It will be a surprise though when she see's my name as her SP. lol

[QUOTE=Belfrybat;7333175]My SP lives several states north of me. Has been sewing quilting for quite some time, is eclectic in her hobbies, and has both cats and dogs. I'm so glad to finally get a Northerner as a swapee as I have three scarves I made and the last two swapees have been from south Florida. Not someplace to send a woolly scarf to! So... which do you think she will like?

I don't have cats so I know I'm not your SP. :( I love the colored one in the middle. But if you send her that one, then it won't still be there for me if you get me next. lol Very nice

Irene C. 10-02-2015 05:14 PM

Hi ladies, New here, Now since the limit is 10.00 you must get creative in sending other goodies. Gently used? possibly handmade? I just wanted to get some of ideas of some neat things you have sent or received.
Thank you for any ideas you can give me and any other newbies here.

Leesewzany 10-03-2015 12:11 PM

Alright SP we have plenty in common so I was a able to raid my personal stash a plenty for you. I will do my buying next weekend. I work pt at a Joann's and they are offering a bonus discount then, I should have a nice bunch of goodies to mail out by next Monday when the package will travel westbound. Happy quilting!!

Question of the day, If YOU could buy something at Joann's and it was 40% off plus 30% off what would it be????

Belfrybat 10-03-2015 01:58 PM

Irene -- items from your stash don't count in the price, nor do homemade items (unless the supplies were expensive). And we often send gently used items, especially patterns, magazines and books. Look at last months' swap to get an idea of the kind of packages some send. Don't be off-put by the fact some are huge -- those people have large stashes. Also, we will re-gift items we've received but can't use--that is perfectly OK.
The idea is to have fun and get to know other members on the board -- not how much we sent and receive.

Thank for the links, I checked them out. All the packages are wonderful. I've started my box, I am still coming up with ideas. I love the handmade items especially.

Belfrybat 10-05-2015 07:23 AM

My we all are quiet this month. Where are the clues, the hints, the building anticipation?
I've almost finished my package -- just need to find a couple of goodies from my stash to finish it up. I'll plan on mailing it to the far north on Thursday. Hope the poor baby doesn't get too cold in transit as we are still in the 90's around here.

Nancy in Louisiana 10-05-2015 08:01 AM

My pkg almost ready to send, too. Just need to work on a couple home-made goodies . This time of year is so easy with all the holidays and season changes. I've been away from home almost a month and can't wait to get the covers off the sewing machine!

Birdscraps 10-05-2015 12:15 PM

Here's a hint. I've had my SP before. She liked all the things I sent last time so I hope this time I score as well.

Irene welcome! You will find that most of us don't stay within the 10.00 limit. If I purchase something then I try to keep it close to that amount. Especially with using coupons you can get "wish list" items for your SP's. I try to write on my info sheet a lot of information to make it easy for the person to be able to choose items for me. Some won't want used items, but me I loved them. I think everyone is happy with handmade items. I always send fabric, either what they are looking for, or something in their favorite colors. You can easily fill a package up if your SP gives you a lot of information on her sheet. Have fun, that is the most important thing.

catjo 10-06-2015 09:05 PM

My SP should of received her package yesterday. But I haven't heard anything.

verna2197 10-06-2015 09:09 PM

Mailed both of my sp packages today, hope you both enjoy what I have sent to you.

Brigit, I've been quiet 'cause I'm just getting over bronchitis & haven't been here much. I have most of my package ready but want to make a couple of things to send yet. It's also hot here but oh well, such is October in Florida.

Quilty-Louise 10-07-2015 04:08 AM

I will be mailing my package this weekend (or Monday at the LATEST).

Been hunting for something she really likes.

Here is are a couple clues for my SP.

Between your address & zip code there are several of the same number.
You do NOT have an embroidery machine.

deltadawn 10-07-2015 04:54 AM

Hurrah ...... An item arrived today in time to go in your package secret pal - It is one of several on your wish list!!
The package will go in the mail on Friday . It has a long long way to travel .

LindaR 10-07-2015 05:55 AM

my package is on its way, should be there shortly...the amazon idea is a good one and I will start one....its hard to think up "wants" each month that don't cost an/arm/leg LOL I love home made things and if can't use put on the "give" table at guild...everything gets used that way...so many pin cushions can be used and have one in each sewing machine case LOL...if anyone comes up with cute little quick things to do...please put in a post...love the free thingies. thats my 2 cents for today...happy quilting

I have been really quite on all my boards. Just haven't had the free time to be on the computer. My main work has just been crazy. When I left last night I was already at 32 hours, and still have today and Friday to go. By the time I make the 1 1/2 hour drive home I just want to grab something to eat and die in front of the TV for the night, which usually includes me falling asleep with my puppies and kitty on me. Yes, the animals do co-mingle, and very well I may add.

AHNK YIU SO much verna!!

Irene C. 10-08-2015 05:10 PM

Nancy how pretty, love the fall colors that you used.

soniboo 10-08-2015 06:08 PM

I sent earlier with a photo but something happened & everything disappeared so I'm starting over. After posting this I'll try the picture again.

A big thank you to catjo/Cathy for the wonderful package I received. She sent pretty patterns & a "Color Theory Made Easy" DVD, an FBI mystery book I know I'll enjoy, binding clips, pretty stiletto & notepads, machine needles, great novelty fabrics (the Italian one says it wants to be a grocery tote), spiced mug mat & a lovely vintage thimble. I've never tried either the Elmer's Precision Pens or Aurifil thread so I'm looking forward to using them & I love the handmade scrubbie & potholder. I also love the card you sent Cathy, thanks for a great SP package!

[ Mountains of Maine Tourmaline ]
Anoka Quilter -I didn't know this was in Maine- do you make jewelry with it or do you just mine it for others? You have a really long commute too-do you drive it yourself or is it some public transportation?

Quilty-Louise great idea about amazon wish list, my daughter suggested that last year for family members but it would be a resource here too. I will be checking into what my list is set as-which I don't know if I ever checked back on it since I put it in-don't remember if I even put anything on it either.

I have most of the items for my secret pal but trying to finish a hand made item and get it in the mail soon. It has a far ways to go so it will probably take at least a week. I know we have made a connection in the past but don't remember if she sent to me or I sent to her.

Lori sorry I didn't see your request -I haven't been on much lately as trying to get all my checkups completed. My job was eliminated via reduction in force-RIF and today is my last day of severance so I will be officially retired Nov 1st. And I have picked up a couple of volunteer activities now too. Anyway Lori I think you are at Life's buffet as your plate always seems to be piled high! Hope your health is doing better and giving you some relief these days.
The items posted here by Brigit and Nancy are really nice I'm sure someone is going to love getting them -I know I would.
Nice to see some new swappers too. And Lori are there any men this month?

Leesewzany 10-09-2015 06:02 AM

I will mail my package on Monday. I just wanted to brag that I found 3 of my SP's wants/likes in 1 single item!!! *pats self on back*

I received the nicest package from Linda R in Michigan (couldn't find a screen name). Pretty blue fabric, some cool red fabric, a Mimi Dietrich panel, books, mags and patterns, a wonderful pair of scissors, a really neat dop kit filled with a notepad, a little purple container and some mints.

Thanks, Linda R!

Quilty-Louise 10-09-2015 01:38 PM

My package should be flying out of here tomorrow!
Of course that is assuming that my regular mail guy
is working. If it happens to be his Saturday off well
it can be hit or miss on the mail carrier coming up
the stairs to pick it up.

Irene C. 10-09-2015 02:38 PM

I'll be mailing on Tuesday, possibly on Monday if I get home early before my post office closes. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
