Joanie2, you even have them laid out so beautifully. I need to play with mine and take a picture. I've been working ever since I got mine and it's driving me nuts!
Beautiful Joanie! I see one of mine in the first picture, I love it!
Great assortment. I see my blocks in there too. How are you going to set them together?
Great combination, I see mine, looks great. Now what are you going to do? lol Send photo when you are finished, love to see the end results.
It is so cool to see one of my blocks in someone's quilt!! That is awesome!
Deb, you did a wonderful job mixing and matching!! |
I just picked up a red/white and blue fabric that is not patriotic but has the bright r/w&b in them with a darker blue background (Joanne's at 30% off) and I'm going to sash them with this fabric so I don't have white touching white and so on. Sashing will probably be 2 1/2" or so and maybe I'll put 4 patches as cornerstones. I'm not totally sure yet but I will definitely take pictures when I finish and put them up for you to see. Thank you so much for your blocks! When the quilts are done they are going to go to the Vets hospital near me.

Ladies, I have to tell you that I didn't make it to the PO today to mail the rest of the packages. My dad had a stroke and I spend the day in the ER with him. I will get them out ..... I promise.
Deb your Dad and your family are in my prayers. I hope he gets better really soon. You did a great job on the swap and I can't wait for your next one.

Deb take the time to spend with your family. I am in no hurry to get my blocks, you taking the personal time is much more important.
Thanks everyone. The Dr.s are having a hard time getting the blood pressure down, let alone keeping it down. And being a medic myself, it is hard just to sit and be on the other side of the care giving.....
Deb, I've been in your shoes.....My heart goes out to you. It's so difficult to see the rock of your life laying in a hospital bed and feeling so helpless. I just cradled mom in my arms, and told her everything was going to be ok.

Deb, I, too, will be thinking about your Dad. My own dad is currently enroute from York, PA to San Diego. His wife decided she wanted a divorce after 17 yrs because he has health issues she doesn't want to deal with. He just turned 79 and is very depressed. He's going to live with my younger brother. At least I might be able to see him a bit more often but I worry about his health. I wish our parents could last forever. I miss my mom every day and it's been 18 yrs since she passed away. Take care.

Joanie2, that is so very sad. I could never imagine doing that to anyone, much less my husband of 17 years. What a witch! Sorry, but you know, you reap what you sow...........

Ok, I'm finally able to share the pictures of my beautiful r/w/b blocks. Thank you everyone who shared with me. :-)
Has anyone decided what they are going to do names of those that made the blocks??
-do you write them on the blocks? -write them on the label? -don't use them? I haven't made a quilt like this and wondered what others do. What do you do with those names? |
