I think I have something I can live with now for my starter row. Mind you, none of the components are sewn together yet because I have to applique the three little sampler blocks so it all looks quite ragged. Today didn't see much time in my sewing room because dh and I were busy with winter preparations outside but tomorrow dh is helping our neighbor again and I anticipate being able to complete this row once and for all. Yea me.
Let me know if you think I should consider changing anything around or doing something different. best, d |

I love those gorgeous colors..really beautiful. If I had to move something around, I would consider flipping the second line of flying geese to point towards the center, then it will lead the eyes back to the inside of your quilt and the beautiful sewing machine featured! Looking forward to working on it! |

An accident happend just a few moments ago that changed my complete path for the RxR with my antique machine appliques. But it's good! You see, I got the machines appliqued to their backgrounds and was auditioning options with fabrics, blocks, etc. I thought I wouldn't use the churn dash block so I stuck it up on my design board with some little sampler blocks I'm in the middle of. Then I was fussing with my Flying Geese strip that I really want to use because it adds so much color. The was hinting I needed his attention :-) and a breath of air so I slapped the FG strip on the board under all the little blocks. When I came back into the room it was an epiphany - Right! This is so right for me. Now mind you, this is just a picture of what started my new direction and is far from thought out. So, Ms Anna, would you still be interested in the challenge of working in one of the other two machines? Any one else maybe up to the task of working in the third machine? No hard feelings if you want to pass - and it definately would be one of those 'wait to see how it would work out' things. One thing I would ask is that the machines not be lined up under one another. I really prefer the sampler look vs linear. So, what do you think? One too many candy corns or am I onto something? best, deb |

That definitely works, when I did my applique for the dresden plates I thought of cutting the background into smaller sizes because they would be easier to work with than the whole row, but I decided not too since one long row with just one seam in the center was faster! |

Great comments, thank you. I do intend to flip the FG on the right side. What you don't see is it is all one long strip that is partially hidden under the sewing machine block. I have to wait to see how everything lines up after I do my applique stitching on the three little blocks and join their components together before I cut into it. Last night I flipped the HST over that are above the machine. Amazing how much color it put into the row. I am another that plans on sending along some fabric with my row. I may also send the drawings for the remaining sampler blocks should anyone want to do anything with those. What I don't want to do is stiffle anyone's creativity so no one is expected to use anything that comes in the packet. I am so looking forward for the opportunity to work on a 'modern' quilt. Such clean colors and lines. I'm stoked waiting for it to come my way. Love what you've done. best, d |
Sure, I am doing my craft show and you get to have all the fun. Craft show went alright, sold one quilt, a runner, and possibly one of my more expensive ones. Yeah....
So now I get to start on my rr. I am thrilled. Whigrose, I just love it and agree with babeyruth on her suggestions. What does it look if it is put on the top on that side? Just curious. So all of us are in agreement of working you machines in so we will enjoy it. Well, I have to get some things done at home here and get on the lonarm so will talk soon. |

I have finally completed my R X R for this group. Everything is sewn, appliqued, trimmed and ready for packaging. Wahoo! Doing the happy dance here. Now, to clean up what looks like a volcanic fabric eruption. best, d |
