Well, if it were me, I would dream of a Babylock PR600 - six needle embroidery machine (I hate changing colors all the time on my machine embroidery and it also is faster!) . THEN I could dedicate my other combo machine - Brother 770 - to just piecing. If I got quilting in the hoop embroidery designs, think how fast I could do them!

But if you don't do machine embroidery, Terri, maybe you want one of the new machines with a bigger throat to make quilting easier. Hmmmm - I hear Viking has one out.

sewbizgirl 10-12-2014 06:25 AM

My guess for the sewing machine would be the Juki TL2010-Q, because I have one and LOVE it!

Quilty-Louise 10-12-2014 06:51 AM

My guess for Terri on her new sewing machine is going to be the NEW
Brother Dream Machine (since that is the machine dream of getting).

jaba 10-12-2014 07:07 AM

I am going to try to catch up with the thread, have been offline a few days as my mother is ill. I spent my day off on Fri looking after her, and she ended up going into the hospital that night. She thought she had a bad cold as she couldn't breathe - it was diagnosed last week as bronchial spasms - turns out she has blood clots in her lungs, and also in her legs. She's having a procedure tomorrow. So I am catching up online while everyone else is at church, I needed the sleep today.

Your dream machine is a Brother Innovis NX650Q with all the bells and whistles, needle threader, large harp, knee lift, programable stitches, sews sideways, embroiders monograms, and best of all, it takes about 10 minutes to learn to operate!

juneayerza 10-12-2014 11:14 AM

My Santa-er knows what I like, HA HA HA LMAO HA HA HA ROTFLMAO HA HA HA

CookyIN 10-12-2014 11:59 AM

I want to be sure that everyone knows you have to PM Terri with your guesses. I don't think that posting here "counts" as she'd have to read through all the posts to catch them.

PenniF, I went to Joann today and got one of the LED lights for my sewing machine. Thank you so much for alerting me to that!

roseirish48 10-12-2014 12:35 PM

i was going to place myself in the hole by mailing box to my ss real soon so she would have to wait close to 2 months to open it but i see there have been others with the same idea. Course since she doesnt live clear across the country, maybe it would still be the first to ARRIVE at its destination. HMMMM---that might be a possibility. will have to get busy and finish making that handmade item.

roseirish48 10-12-2014 12:36 PM

hey is there any Bacardi or Blue Hurricane in the hole to add to my diet mountain Dew?

tlrnhi 10-12-2014 12:48 PM

I do see some of the responses, but yes, please PM me your answer. Want to make sure that the person(s) with the correct answer wins. If I don't see it on the thread and you have the correct answer, I may not see it.

roseirish, there is anything in the hole that you want. I don't know what Blue Hurricane is -- shows how sheltered I am -- so if you don't care, I'll come sit by you and try it. I'm betting someone else here already knows what it is and will join us!

COOL !!! I went back today as well as i still had a 50% off anything that i hadn't used. Found something GREAT for my SS'ee....
THEN totally blew my being good and not buying fabric by stocking up on some white on whites - which i was very low on.....
THEN since i've been feeling quilty about making quilts for my sister and niece, bought some turquoise and orange (Miami Dolphin colors) to make a D4P for my BIL. I CANNOT go back to the fabric store again because i CANNOT add anything else to my Christmas to do list !!!....had to smack myself twice to move away from the Christmas fabrics !!!!!

CookyIN 10-12-2014 03:14 PM

Penni, that place is addictive. I was in there for two hours. They had an extra 50% off clearance cottons so got a few of those plus some remnants plus a pattern... it never ends. I lose all track of time in there. Bet your BIL will love his quilt!

VickiM 10-12-2014 05:10 PM

Finished making the last item for my giftee & will go through the box & really see what I've accumulated for her throughout the year & lately...then after my craftshow 10/18 I will get busy wrapping & hopefully get it sent off before Halloween...I'm actually early this year...got myself more organized (WOW! WHAT'S THAT?).:p:shock::shock::shock::p:D:D:D

HappyQuilter77 10-12-2014 05:16 PM

How utterly CUTE and fun! However, it kinda bothers me that one hole has two stitches, while the others have only one. I know . . . I have problems. :D

mdall 10-12-2014 07:56 PM

Off topic here, has anyone seen a post for Christmas Ornament swap so far. I have looked but nothing.

No...we know it's because you just feel sorry for the other button holes - cuz they only have 1. We understand.

SheriR - Those buttons are absolutely adorable!

LoL me too but you really don't notice that unless you wonder....How did they make five petals with four holes..... I still think they're cute. :D

sewbizgirl 10-12-2014 09:37 PM

I'm new to this swap this year so need to ask: What is the deal with the "hole"? What hole are you all talking about? Is this some sort of virtual game?

Here's the link to last year's:

http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...a-t230696.html

Looks like the lady who hosted it hasn't been active on the boards since January. Last year's sign-up deadline was Oct. 5th.

sewbizgirl, here's what I wrote about the hole earlier on this thread. (Sorry to repeat for those who've already seen it.)

Just have to tell you all something funny that happened today. I think a lot of the newbies here -- and maybe some repeat SSers don't really "get" the concept of the hole. I posted earlier today that I was headed there to kick my feet up with a mimosa. So what was I really doing during that time? Cleaning the bathrooms! There I was with the brush in my hand scrubbing the bowl thinking how glad I was that I could at least be enjoying my virtual mimosa at that moment. The hole is all in good fun with no calories, no hangovers, and lots of great company; you can't beat that!

I think our hostess, Terri, started the hole as a punishment when posters were naughty (long before I first took part in the SS swap) and needed to be put into the timeout corner. But those creative quilters just turned that on its head and made it into the most popular place to be for everyone in the swap. Not that some of those in there aren't naughty, as you'll find out soon enough...

didi 10-13-2014 02:45 AM

Like bookmarks, love buttons, no zippers, no Christmas items, love Mug Rugs and homemade items. Would like to try the Wonder clips, don't have any. Love sewing notions, always need seam ripper. No pin cushions, have many, love fuzzy socks.

First time doing this swap and didn't know to list your wants and not wants. Hope this will help my SS.

mdall 10-13-2014 05:09 AM

CoodyIN, thanks for the info. Thought that was the problem but also thought maybe someone else took it over and I just didnt see it.

For those of you that participated in the past years Good news. I have asked Admin if I could host one this year and once I get everything written down I will be posting signups, Hopefully by end of tomorrow.

So sad I missed the deadline for the SS here this year. Things have just been crazy here and time flew by before I realized it. All is good though. I can still read all the post and of course jump in the hole when I am feeling a little slanted. LOL
