Well, that didn't go as planned. I'll try again. Which is the real bumble bee?

Carron 06-20-2012 10:03 AM

Hey Jillnjo,
I finally finished the quilt and I shall get in packaged and into the mail, oh I will say tomorrow morning!

Krystyna 06-20-2012 10:31 AM

Buslady, love the scooter! Funny because I was just talking about getting one for the family since some of them work where there is no parking.

Brenda, you quilt is done except for the label. But I don't think it needs one because I decided to keep it. OK? OK! Bye!

Linny 06-20-2012 10:50 AM

978Gray- so pretty..the basket and flowers you made.

brenda21 06-20-2012 11:59 AM

Krystyna you still need a label because you will forget that you made it :p

Judith1005 06-20-2012 12:02 PM

HappyCatQuilter, What a beautiful basket of flowers. So cheerful.

buslady 06-20-2012 12:55 PM

100 miles to the gallon! don't get any better than that.DH and I pull in and fill em both up, it might be $4 or $5 for both. LOL Takes a little longer, as they only do about 35, but on these hot days, it feels pretty dang good. It is about 12 miles each way to town for work. Had a flat tire when I got here today, so it is in the back of the truck for a ride home to fix. Grrrrrrrrrrr!! At least it didn't go flat while I was sailing down the road full throttle like the last time! LOL

Lynnie25 06-20-2012 12:56 PM

Happycatquilter, love the basket of flowers, very bright and cheery.

Buslady, great pic of you on your scooter. Two of my friends ride scooters, one rides a pink one and all pink accessories, the other a red one with red accessories.

nancia 06-20-2012 01:06 PM

i think the scooter is wonderful, and you, too, buslady! i drive a discretely sexy convertible. gets about 16 mpg. so i don't drive it much! i never fill up anymore since my mechanic told me the gas goes bad and turns into thick gunk that messes up your engine. now, why would they put that in the gas??

where's my head? just want to add that the basket of flowers is lovely! is that hand quilted? looks great!:)

Don't pretend you didn't peek, stinky girl. I know you did. And now you know why you're not getting it.
(Just kidding. No I'm not. Yes I am. Maybe.)

QuilterMomma 06-20-2012 03:55 PM

Started working on my DQs and wondering why I thought 8 point stars would be easy, ugh.

Krystyna 06-20-2012 04:35 PM

Brenda - pinky swear that you won't peek.

My June quilt is posted on my blog - link under my signature.

What do you think?

But NOT Brenda!!!!

BuzzinBumble 06-21-2012 06:12 AM

I had the same trouble Onalee until I checked Krystyna's Textile Obsession blog and found a stunning quilt with a very humorous title.
Krystyna - that quilt is jaw droppingly gorgeous! Brenda make sure you wear "Depends" before you open your package!

Krystyna, you posted photos of Daisy Mae and Brenda's Miss Daisy on your Textile Obsession blog.
I was wondering....is your Daisy Mae our Pip's long lost sister?
I'm only half kidding because she sure looks like she is to me! Pip was confiscated from a puppy mill a little over 2 years ago and we adopted her in Ohio, near Toledo. I've put your picture of your little Daisy Mae in her cute little dress alongside pics of Pip for you to see.

Holy mackerel, Lara! They could be sisters! Do you know what Pip is? My best bet for Daisy is chihuahua and some sort of terrier. She was a rescue also. They found her on the street in Queens - a borough of New York City -- and she was so fearful. Now she is my shadow. I just love my little girl. Daisy now has a puppy cut for the summer.

brenda21 06-21-2012 08:36 AM

OMG that could be sweet little Daisy Mae's relative!! Pip is also very cute!! Krystyna has that sweet little thing spoiled rotten hahah.

brenda21 06-21-2012 08:37 AM

Nancia~don't make me come over there.....

I think you two have been out in the sun and heat too long. You've gotten delirious.

Speaking of delirious, my husband works outside and yesterday was brutal for this man who sweats when it's over 40 degrees. He came home and decided to go to the beach side dog park where they have an ICE cold shower. When he came back he was so out of it that I thought he had been drinking. He was angry, babbling and staggering a little. Alarming to say the least. This morning he was back to normal and I was able to talk to him and suggest that today he might just come home, have a TEPID shower HERE, and then a little nap. He agreed, admitting that the ice cold shower wasn't the best idea. Whew! Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

nancia 06-21-2012 09:07 AM

brenda== i'm going to beat you to it! if k sends it to you, i'll just come over to your house and get it! do you have an alarm system? you might need to give me the code.

I know just how you feel! I seriously feel that Pip rescued me and not the other way around. She was a mess and fearful too, but when I picked her up and pet her head, her face transformed into such a look of sheer bliss that my hubby made his "you have no choice but to keep her" face with the wiggling eyebrows. She's still an utter affection hog. The rescue people told us that her mother was a mini schnauzer and they thought her father was a yorkie. The dogs were all split up when the Humane Society did their raid and dispersed to whatever shelters could take them in. I keep her fur trimmed short because it grows out so patchy that she looks like a wildebeast if when it starts to get long.

Thanks Brenda - your Miss Daisy caught my heart right away too.

Brenda and Nancia you are both too goofy squabbling over Krystyna's quilt, when she told you all along she is going to keep it. :p

This heat IS deadly... I keep wondering how the wild creatures are coping in it. Make sure your husband takes extra precautions Krystyna - that is pretty scary how he was yesterday. At the very least a case of heat exhaustion! My DD had a job in research and just read a study that the very best drink to have when you have been working hard in the heat is NOT Gatorade, but cold chocolate milk.

you can't....you're stuck in philly:D

buslady 06-21-2012 09:53 AM

Boy, I sure hate to see grown up adults fighting like this. I will just have to settle it. Krystyna, I have PM'd you my address. There. Settled.

Last October, they took 1500 quilts to the HQS in Houston where they are all marked down for sale and they sold like hotcakes! The ones that don't sell @ auction or online, the quilters at Houston get a chance to buy them at reduced prices (not sure if that's 25% off, 50% off or any and all for $10). They sell quicker when you can actually see them in person. I believe it's in November when they'll be doing it this year. Someone will love your great mini! :o

Chocolate milk? I'm not telling him that. We're both on diets. However, I might tell my son since he works in a hot kitchen and can stand to gain a pound.

Love the story about Pip. She so adorable! Hmmmm. Someone should organize a puppy quilt swap! (Not me!)

This has been a crazy month for me, I haven't had much time to get on the computer. I think I'll be taking next month off from the swap so I can catch up on things here.

I had to stop by to share the quilt I received from psychomomquilter, the fabric has lovely bright summer flowers and cutest little ladybugs sewn on! She also sent a wonderful little pin cushion, also topped with a ladybug! Thank you so much for the quilt and pin cushion!

of course, being one, his first reaction was to chew on the pin cushion to test the quality :)

I finished your quilt about a week ago but have not been able to get to the Post Office!!!! I am hoping tomorrow I will get there, if not it will happen on Saturday! I am *almost* finished with my 2nd partner's quilt, just a little more quilting and the binding. I'll send it out next week!

jacie 06-21-2012 06:01 PM
