Holy mackerel, Lara! They could be sisters! Do you know what Pip is? My best bet for Daisy is chihuahua and some sort of terrier. She was a rescue also. They found her on the street in Queens - a borough of New York City -- and she was so fearful. Now she is my shadow. I just love my little girl. Daisy now has a puppy cut for the summer.

KrisB made me the most wonderful quilt and I am still giddy everytime I think of it! I sent you a PM Kris, but Thank you again! And thank you too for the sampler pack of landscape fabrics you included with your quilt.
In my youth, I worked summers in the mountains and had told Kris that the mountains speak to my heart, and that I always feel like a fish put back in the water when we visit them. I am so touched by this quilt Kris made! She perfectly captured the serenity and beauty of being in the mountains. Kris even made the lake water sparkle in the sunshine! My whole family is amazed that she could do this with fabric. Don't you just love the three red Adirondack chairs too?! Kris you couldn't have known, but this looks sooo much like where I worked! If I could, I would give you a huge hug! Okay here are the pictures. The first is a close up of a small part of the quilt. I hope you can see the sparkling lake. The second is of the whole quilt. Kris named it "Mountain Dreams". I will be putting this quilt right by my sewing area so I can have a quick little escape to the mountains whenever I see it. |

mmmm, when i was a little girl my dgf took me to a fishing camp and it was in the mountains of vermont. i have such wonderful memories and your quilt took me back to the lake mansfield trout club, thank you!

Flowers in the California Sun-my quilt from Carron! It's poppies and it's bright and beautiful! Thank you, Carron!
She quilted with sparkly gold thread in the sashing- it says California sunshine flowers! The centers of the 4 blocks each have either a gold sparkly flower or a lavendar rosette in the centers. I went outside and shot a couple of photos against my greenery in the shade garden and I think it sets off the brightness of the fabrics. Here's the precious DQ from skaduzy! I just LOVE it! It's perfect! She also sent a sweet card, a notepad, and some sewing machine needles. I'm going to hang it in the bedroom with some of the other DQ's from previous swaps. Thanks skaduzy! :thumbup: (Sorry it took me so long to get a photo. Things have been hectic!)

Beautiful work, Carron! The gold thread in the sashing is such an added feature (reminds me of Greek Key) and it's so bright and cheerful!
Love the landscape, Mountain Dreams! Fabulous work! It took me back to teenage years when the family had those Adirondack chairs that I loved. The mountains are so dreamy and serene ~~ so peaceful I'd be visiting it all the time; that and the beach! :thumbup: Psychomom's quilt was darling too! Love the trailing flowers on the fence and ladybugs too! Everyone's work is so different from one another! It's a treat to see! :thumbup: What a cute quilt from skaduzy! Love the use of bright pink in it! I love birds in a mini too! Good job!! |

So I received my AMAZING quilt from Krystyna today and it is beyond belief....so many things in it that I love and the summer theme...there are batiks, embroidery, elements of crazy quilts and the ocean which I love and miss....I took several pictures but do have to tell you about our crazy swap hostess and the last picture that you will see....during a routine chat on here I happened to mention that in my opinion, one should no longer have to suffer through PMS once one has reached an age that is unrealistic (although possible) to still have children (referring to myself) and besides all eggs were probably dead, so therefore the whole scenario is pointless and "the change of life" should happen sooner(at least for me) SO our fearless swap leader, in true Krystyna fashion, sent something extra with my quilt....I LOVE HER....I really do....enjoy the pictures.....

Oh my gosh, what an amazing quilt Brenda! Every little detail is so meticulous and it is one of those quilts that you have to keep looking at because you see something different every time you look. Krystyna, you are so talented.

I am so glad you like this quilt jillnjo. After I had mailed the quilt you mentioned that your mother and friends were arriving soon to your home to see your flowers. I then thought you must have a beautiful flower garden growing and that my choice to make a quilt with flowers seemed to fit right in with your green thumb. The name of the block is "Jack in the box".:o |
