Okey Dokey Kris... your quilt is on its way! I hope you get it Wednesday, but it might be Thursday.
Just for fun and as a teaser, i wrote a little poem about the subject of your quilt. See if you can guess! Her sweetheart is such a flashy gent, The chicks all stop and stare. Her feathers aren't ruffled; she is content. His love she does ensnare. Yeah, yeah... Emily Dickinson, I'm not. :o |
Wow some lovely quilts coming in, hopefully mine will be here soon... Sunny and bright here in the Florida Panhandle... wind gone and heat is getting hotter, will be a firecracker type heat for the 4th...

It is Abonda that got her DQ a couple days ago, she must be busy or out of town, havent seen her post. Anxious to hear what she thinks. |

So glad you like what I made you. It was super fun and the little crumb blocks work up so fast! Can't wait to see what mine from across the pond will look like! :)
More cute quilts! A girl can't be gone for a weekend here...she just misses all the pretties! :) Here's another pic of what I sent that's a tiny bit clearer. :) |
abonda/buslady that is soooo awesome!!
|
Thank you ladies for all the kind comments. I had so much fun making that one. Yellow is my favorite color and it does make me smile to look at it. I used a lot of new to me techniques. The butterfly was my first "off canvas" project on my embroydery machine. Well, I should say second, my dog ate half of the first one! I still love him though!!!! And the second one turned out even nicer anyway. LOL Now I am anxious to do more! I have 3 started for July. That way I can choose for my partner. Again, thanks ladies, I needed that ego boost this morning!

Love those little kitties on that quilt buslady/abdona. So cute and now you have a wonderful bouquet of flowers all year long. It is a joyous little quilt.
Mine are a little slow this month. They tops are made, just have not been out to the longarm to get quilted. Got the flu myself now soooooo tired and yet, I get to be at work. If I don't go in, there is nobody at the office so compliment is I am not replaceable, bad side is can't miss work when sick. Oh well, life goes on and I get to do some hand stuff. Hopefully get them quilted tonight so I can do bindings and mail tomorrow. Upside, my partners are in same boat as me. |
Well it sounds good to me, who is Emily Dickinson anyway, lol:thumbup:

This is very pretty. I love the way the trianlges seem to "melt".
|
QuilterMomma, hope you're better soon. I had no idea you could get the flu at this time of year.
|
rwquilts, have you received my quilt yet?? It can't be too far away now
|
Apparently you can. Here is has been colder, with lots of rain. We have only had two days this whole month that it actually hit 81 degrees. My insurance has expired because DH changed jobs so I am hoping not strep but I have nausia as well so tend more towards the flu. I am getting as much rest as possible only because body says going to and drinking the herbal tea to rid the body of germs causing issue. The orange juice and rhubarb slush help some but the acid is not comfortable. Will get them done. I live for those specific days ya know, have to keep that appointment. Thanks for the get well.

Emily Dickenson didn't have much of a personal life, Lara, so I'm glad for you that you aren't her. Your quilt can go right with the chickens in my living room. Didn't come today, though. Waiting less than patiently.
|
outside of Malone and it was hot last week. Actually it was just right we had a water slide birthday party for the youngest boy. There were eight little guys running around with water guns and slipping and sliding in the water :)
I was born in this area but moved to TN in 1993.

ok, so the curiosity demon got me last night and I opened my squishy from Quilty Mom - what a treat! Her quilt invokes the memories of summer at my gram's in Atlantic City playing in the sand by the shore. I love the bright colors and the fancy stitches between each block (can't see them in the picture)
These flip flops on the back are just too cute! She also sent a starfish mug rug, a flip flop with nail stuff inside, and two hand made neck coolers! Those will be handy over the next few 100 degree days! Thanks Sue - you are a wonderful partner. I hope they deliver your squishy soon. |
What a delightful quilt! You really got a treat, Paula. Quilty Mom, well done!
As for the weather, I live by the ocean and it really has been delightful here the last several days. One night it went down to 58! Today it's supposed to hit 90, but there is a wonderful breeze coming from the shore so it doesn't really matter. I have one block done for July and am pretty happy with it. |
Great DQ Quilty Mom, Dragonfly you are lucky to have it!! I just love the bright colors for this time of year. Here in Michigan it is supposed to get in the high 90's. Add the humidity to that and it is a good day to head to the beach!!
|
very cute quilt Dragonfly!
|
Carron, love your bright California quilt!
|
oo, ah, quiltymom, dragonfly, I LOVE your little quilt. What awesome use of the prints. Makes me feel home. :)
