Linda, your quilt to Gaiatender is darling! I need to upgrade my 23 yr old sewing machine so I can make cool thinks like that! :) Congrats Gaiatender on the lovely sampler quilt. I am so sorry you are missing quilts for April and May. :(

thank you but my machine didn't do that, I did it by hand I love to cross-stich.

Well, once again, the DQ quilts are wonderful, creative, thoughtful, beautiful! I messaged Kitsykeel that I was leaving for a couple days and going to a cabin with all of our kids (first time ever) and was going to finish the hand stitching for hers. All best laid plans go awry...my husband woke up to sick to go, which meant I would have to load everything, drive myself, I did make it, exhausted, finally fell asleep to wake up to knocking and soaked kids and a flooded campground, which means a cabin full of soggy, wet kids and clothes, I am sneaking off now, the town 10 miles away has a cupcake bakery, yep I have a plan, and my kids have noooo idea.

Jean D 06-22-2013 07:33 AM

Oh, and Kitsy, your quilt WILL get done, it's what's keeping me sane here.

Oops, my apologies! No offense intended! I love to cross stitch too. My machine is old and there are machines out there today that seem to do everything but bake bread, so I assumed. Again my apologies. Very lovely work!

I am sorry to say but she did get one in May. I was her partner and sent it in and posted pictures of it for her after I got her PM she had received it.

She posted in the May thread of receiving her May Crazy quilt, it is post #798. Unless she had 2 partners. She did get her May DQ. I posted pictures of it for her since she was having problems posting pictures.

createfourpaws 06-22-2013 08:12 AM

I am sorry to say that being accused of not sending my partner her DQ in May has made me angry and since I have not received any PM regarding not sending. I do not believe I have the desire to be a part of this group any longer. I will send the June DQ that is ready to be mailed to Grandma Di.

I have enjoyed being here until I see these post. As everyone can see who each others partners are, not one person either the hostess nor the person who said she didn't get her May DQ, which she post in the May thread post #798.

Enjoy your future DQ swaps.

BuzzinBumble 06-22-2013 08:36 AM

Cindy please don't leave the swap...it is easy to see why your feelings are hurt. But you are a great swap member and would be so missed! I am sure tiredness or forgetfulness contributed to this mix up. I apologize for my comment about no shows. It was aimed at the general idea, I definitely did not go and look up who were the April and May partners. I'm sure that goes for all of us. It would be awful if you left now when you feel so angry and hurt and it would be so very hard to get over. Please let us make amends.

jaba 06-22-2013 08:49 AM

Cindy I am very new to this swap but I don't think all the partners get posted. I can say this because this month my partner is toomanyufo's but I also have argentium and it is not posted that we are partners. Saying that, I have mailed both but I have not received yet. Just saying she may have had 2 partners.

BertieD 06-22-2013 08:51 AM

createfourpaws, that was a magnificent quilt you sent in May! I'm so sorry your feelings have been hurt. I'm sure this has just been a big misunderstanding. Please forgive us and stay with us.

createfourpaws 06-22-2013 09:01 AM

May was my first time joining in, and I have sent messages to both Gaiatender and Krystana. No finally decision will be made until I hear from them. But right now I am hurt the quick and have no desire to be here or any of the swaps I have joined on this board. I am considering leaving all together once I complete my commitments that are already in action.

I have received a message from Krystana......so I will be staying around.

Krystyna 06-22-2013 09:48 AM

Cindy, I am so sorry for not clarifying that it was her second partner. You did send her a beautiful quilt in May. It was so thoughtless of me not to make that clear and I hope that you will forgive me for my error in judgement. You are such a valued member of our group and I never, ever want to cause you any hurt or anger due to my stupid oversight. Please accept my heartfelt apology and don't leave us! I feel awful.

Thank goodness. I am so very sorry. You sent a wonderful quilt. I guess I was so upset that she was missing two months in a row FROM OTHER PEOPLE -- NOT YOU -- that I didn't think to clarify. I am so glad you're staying with us. Thank you.

createfourpaws 06-22-2013 09:52 AM

I want to aplogize for venting on the thread before waiting to hear back from the PM's I sent. I will wait in the future, should something like this happens again.

I don't ever want someone not to get a DQ in return. It is not fair for anyone to put their time and care into making one for their partner only to sit and wait.

createfourpaws 06-22-2013 10:10 AM

Grandma Di your quilt is in the mail waiting for the mailman to pick it up today. I have the tracking number so if needed I can give it to you.

I enjoyed coming up with your DQ.

Nancy in Louisiana 06-22-2013 10:27 AM

Skaduzy -- your little mini is awaiting a label and off it will go on Monday!

wanda lou 06-22-2013 10:29 AM

Quiltermomma I mailed your little quilt.

BuzzinBumble 06-22-2013 10:43 AM

This is the most wonderful group of ladies! Createfourpaws I am so glad you feel better now. Wow the quilts you and gaiatender made for each other in May are over the top wonderful! A big Oofdah for the gorgeous crazy quilts in May!

Cogito, it came today! I will try to post a picture and I do apologize for the poor quality. My camera is only one more thing I don't know how to operate ;)
She sent me the best RWB quilt ever! I absolutely love it. She also sent me a bag to keep it in with my name in a see-thru window for it. I couldn't get a good picture of the label but her label is awesome, too. Thanks for my bracelet (? or scissors fob) my cutter and the seeds. You were too good to me but I ain't returning a thang! TYVM! (BIG GRIN)

Bertie,
So glad you liked your gifties! So, what I had mentioned in my letter....I backed your quilt in the Iowa State Shop Hop fabric since you said your dh was from Iowa and you loved Iowa......that fabric sold out within hours of the start of the hop so you are special! :) The scissor fob as I explained was supposed to have a pair of embroidery scissors with it and it was too late that I realized I didn't have an extra set to put with the fob! I was so stressed about our TV AND our 5 year old GE Profile refrigerator needing to be replaced that I even forgot to take pictures of the fob. Could you please take a photo of the fob and post it? I like to keep a record of the things I make and I have only made 2 fobs...one for you and one for the secret pal swap, so really wanted a photo...cant believe I forgot! I am posting additional pics for folks hope they don't mind the repeats.

I was blessed with two partners this month, so I will be sending the 2nd RWB quilt to Gaijin when it is completed. Just wanted you to know Gaijin that yours is coming in another week (or I should say I am sending).......

Krystyna,
You do an absolute fabulous job as hostess! We are all human....that being said I have to mention that when I read the previous posts regarding the missing doll quilts my immediate realizations were:
1. She must have had 2 partners this month ( I judged that by the wording Krystyna used even if it wasn't immediately obvious
2. There is no way it would be createfourpaws she is talking about because she has been active and has been participating wonderfully.

So.....createfourpaws....I am so sorry this was upsetting to you. I am sure I would have felt the same had I been in your shoes and not realized the fact of 2 partners. And Krystyna, I have been participating on several swaps in QB and I want to emphasize again you do a fabulous job and I am sure I speak for everyone on this board swap that we so appreciate you!!!!!!!

I do still think it is important to "call out" those that are not abiding by the very few, generous rules that we have. When those who sign up do not follow these simple rules it is disrespectful to the entire swap group and jeopardizes future swaps. therefore I wholeheartedly support what you do Krystyna. It was just an unfortunate misunderstanding in this instance. :)

Yes Krystana does an excellent job. I grateful for her being a excellent hostess. Yes we are all humans, and all has be corrected.

My biggest mistake was not waiting before venting on the board. I am here and will be happy to help in anyway possible.

Cogito 06-22-2013 12:52 PM

Cindy, no worries. we all love you as a part of our "team" and teams stick together. :)

In the words of the great Smokey Robinson: "I second that emotion"!

Krystyna 06-22-2013 01:53 PM

Yep to all of the above. Love ya, Cindy!

Still not getting messages about this thread! I think I have to unsub and then sub again. Or something.

Cogito, what a fabulous little quilt and goodies! The Iowa fabric is delightful! Lucky Bertie!

Well, my darling partner, Lara (BuzzinBumble) received her little quilt and the other "thing" I made and was happy. Yay! I'll wait for her to post pix.

Krystyna 06-22-2013 01:56 PM

OK. Everyone is happy. So moving right along ...

Wonderful day!

Krystyna you can't keep calling it a "thing" :p - It is a fabulous sampler in embroidery and I love it and am putting it in my kitchen!
Y'all I don't know how she did it, being as how this month was so totally crazy for her, but Krystyna sent me two really great minis.
The first is a rag quilt, but one like I've never seen - with NY Beauty like circles sewn together in a squiggly pattern. It is terrific and now I want to try one! The quilting is so cool that I am not sure if I want to wash it as apparently you do with rag quilts. I adore the fabrics.
And the second little quilt is so wonderful - and embroidery sampler with some of my very favorite themes: A bee! A country house on a high hill with a weeping willow tree and alphabet! And the cutest darn chickens! I did start to cry when I pulled it out. Happy crying Krystyna, happy crying. :o

Thank you for being such a fun partner - you made the month great!
So here are the pics.

Cogito 06-22-2013 02:46 PM

Ooh, ooh, ooh! Very nice quilties you received from Krystyna! I love them both! Love the little bee for BuzzinBumble! :D. And the sampler, and the stacked chickens with their little aprons, and the weeping willow, and the rag swirlies, and.....well I just love it all! Good job Krystyna and Happy Day Lara!

Vanogay 06-22-2013 03:08 PM

I can understand how you - Cindy - could get upset. Something similar has happened to me on another swap here on QB. I worked long and hard and sent the required item. Never got a PM that it was received, but I had checked the confirmation from the PO and it had been delivered. Then there was a very short, "I got it" kind of response posted on the thread and a general "thank you". Not the kind of words that tell me, Wow, this is neat/great/beautiful, just I got it, thank you and no picture. Makes me wonder if all my time was actually worth it. THen I sent a second package with some things I had not included in the first package - and confirmation says it was delivered, not a word otherwise. Made me make a very hard decision on staying or not, just as you were thinking of. We can jump to all sorts of conclusions and sometimes, we're wrong. I am probably wrong in thinking my partner didn't like the work I did, but I'm not opening that can of worms - I will just stay here and watch...

Vanogay 06-22-2013 03:09 PM

P.S. Some really cute RW&B DQs coming through. Waiting for the July Oompah - have some good ideas (now if I can get them from the brain to the hands...)

jillnjo 06-22-2013 03:15 PM

Really enjoyed seeing all the special quilts being posted here! Very interesting rag quilt, Krystyna!
I think my partner should have gotten her quilt, but maybe not till Monday.
I have always had a wonderful partner when participating in the DQ swap, and it is truly sad when someone doesn't! July is almost here, so put out the little quilts and barbecue while racing around with some sparklers!!! OK, I don't do that anymore, either?!

BuzzinBumble 06-22-2013 03:24 PM

Bertie you are one lucky duck - I bet you love the Iowa fabric backing too! What does TYVM mean? Cogito your flag quilt came out really great and I for one am waiting to see what a scissors fob looks like.

Vanogay... I'm grinning from ear to ear over the Oompah. Oompah is a lot like Ooftah and that had never occurred to me before. Oompah is Greek right? I seem to remember it from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

PS... I too have been blessed with good partners...including you jillnjo!

Difergie 06-22-2013 04:29 PM

So many cute quilts this month!

TOOMANYUFO'S 06-22-2013 04:47 PM

Well, procrastinator has just cut the fabric for my partners mini quilt. I almost changed my mind and made a flag quilt like the one just posted. Really like the flag quilt. I may make one for myself. Now to do some sewing!

Krystyna 06-22-2013 05:38 PM

I'm so glad you like it Lara. The whole thing was supposed to be circles but after I sliced them up my son (who was helping make mantillas at the time) looked over and suggested the swirly pattern. It sort of reminded me of the bunting that people hang on holidays. So easy to do, too! Glad you like the little sampler -- it's the Attack of the Giant BuzzinBumble!

Vanogay, I hope it wasn't me! You sent me that gorgeous lace church and I never posted a photo! I promise I will as soon as I clean off the top of my dresser. It's next to the "floating Jesus" that was staring at me in the middle of the flood and I love it sooooo much~!

Oompah! I love it! Isn't that German? I thought Greeks said Hoppa!
