Lovely fabrics mamaskeeto. The colors are some what similar to the patriotic fabrics I am using.

I need my partner asap...I want to make something that is a bit larger...like 22X33...It is adorable and lisalisa sent me the pattern!

I have to share a story here...lisalisa was my partner in the May swap and she sent me the most outrageously crazy quilt and I love, love it! I took it over to show my 95 yr old mom who is now in Hospice and quilts are something she is still knows and loves. She couldn't quit looking at it and touching it. I asked her if she would like to keep it for a few days and she was so thrilled. She took it downstairs for breakfast to show it to her friends...they are all wheelchair bound and they all just love it. I got it back yesterday because she thinks someone will steal it but it gave her so much pleasure. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart, lisa.

Krystyna 05-28-2013 08:16 AM

Sharon, what a wonderful story about your mom! Isn't it wonderful how much joy quilts bring to people's hearts? As for your partner ... Saturday morning Little Miss Impatient!

Just got back from bringing my two pups to the vet -- first time since the storm. Their office was destroyed and they were working out of a trailer with a generator. So ... after this that and the other I got the bill and nearly pooped! $455! Yow! I think I need a donut to help me recover ...

BuzzinBumble 05-28-2013 08:26 AM

A donut? How about a whole chocolate cake? Maybe you are helping your vet rebuild. Our vet bills are about that bad too, by the time you buy the heartworm and flea and tick preventative meds and then our old lady Piper is on pain pills and also Prozac. Pip and Penny so far only need the basics.

BuzzinBumble 05-28-2013 08:29 AM

Sharon that is so touching. I am glad your Mom found Joy in LisaLisa's beautiful crazy quilt.

Mamaskeeto, it looks you are on track for a pretty quilt, becasue those are gorgeous fabrics!

Poor Piper! My 8 year old Puggle was not happy having his nails clipped ... and then the perpetual ear infections. Little Daisy had to be muzzled but after that she was complacent.

As for a whole chocolate cake ... sure thing! I'll cut it in half and smack the pieces on each hip to save time. Actually I just picked up some orange cake mix and icing so I think I will make cupcakes later on today.

Krystyna 05-28-2013 09:29 AM

Off Topic, but I couldn't resist ... did anyone see the Discovery Channel Mermaid special?

wanda lou 05-28-2013 10:44 AM

K ... yes I did watch the special and enjoyed it so much. I believe, I believe...

Funny thing is that I was sitting next to my son at Mass on Sunday and one of the readings struck me so much that I pointed it out to him ... "The birds of the air, the fish of the sea, and whatever swims the paths of the seas."

jaba 05-28-2013 11:47 AM

Been following this thread for such a long time, wanted to do the crazy quilt but was on vacation. Would like to do the red, white and blue if it's okay with you ladies. Will send PM

luvstoquilt 05-28-2013 11:58 AM

Yea! Come on in Jaba!!! This will be my 4th time....I love it! Wish I had been in since the beginning..would be fun to have all those little quilts!

Krystyna 05-28-2013 02:27 PM

Yay! Jaba! Do a red, white and blue crazy quilt!

BuzzinBumble 05-28-2013 02:30 PM

What a great idea!
You'll love this group Jaba!

jaba 05-28-2013 03:14 PM

Don't know how crazy it will be, but have the red, white, and blue. Started it today. Excited about this swap TY for the warm welcome

Krystyna 05-28-2013 03:32 PM

Love the quilt in your avatar, Jaba!

jaba 05-28-2013 06:04 PM

Just a wall hanging size Krystyna. My first fracture block, pain in the you know what 1/8" seam, but I'm kind of hooked on them now. They are so fun to make with the right fabric and pattern. Thank you for noticing.

Krystyna 05-28-2013 06:16 PM

Well, we're not at the sign up deadline, but I have partners paired up. Things can change depending on who turns up in the next three days ...

BuzzinBumble 05-28-2013 06:37 PM

Oh goody! Yay Krystyna! I can hardly wait!

wanda lou 05-29-2013 12:34 AM

Welcome Jaba!
I am thinking about a crazy quilt in red , white and blue myself.

Ms Grace 05-29-2013 04:31 AM

Jaba,
Glad you will join us.:)

luvstoquilt 05-29-2013 05:55 AM

Krystyna I feel your pain on the vet bill...after Katie and Angel died I didn't get another dog because it is so expensive to keep them safe, fed and well. It is just Mr. Peach and me now and he eats me out of house and home!

So glad for all of the new doll quilters...how I wish I had a stack of 45 of them! Such fun to make. I am planning on a primitive this month but it is 33" long...I need to get my partner before I make it to make sure she will be ok with the oversized length!

PS..blame it on lisalisa..she sent me the pattern!!!! It is adorable!

Psychomomquilter 05-29-2013 09:00 AM

about the mermaidss, was this an older one on Discovery? I did see the one about the "body on the beach" and there wewre about four or five other ones, are these the same ones you are discussing?? and who is to say that there aren't any? hey we havent discovered the ocean depths yet. also a lot of other places too..

Ms Grace 05-29-2013 09:03 AM

I've picked out the fabric for my little quilt.
I don't care for the brighter reds & blues, so I'm going with a barn reddish & slate blue color.

I love the fractured blocks as well and yes I agree with you about the 1/8 in seam. I have one I just need to finish the binding. I have fabric to do another one, just haven't gotten to it yet.

tracibug 05-29-2013 12:54 PM

Thank you, ladies... It is an honor to serve and I miss it daily.

And thank you for the positive wishes and prayers, change is coming slowly but I had to let go and look up for it to happen. Hugs to all...

that's so nice. *sniffles*. I know people wonder why on earth you would work so hard on some thing just to turn around and give it away to someone you hardly know. This is exactly why! The universe has a bigger plan.

sorry I have to sit this one out. work beckons.

I think Krystyna said the list comes out on Saturday, so you should be good to go.

luvstoquilt 05-30-2013 06:13 AM

Krystyna I hope your birthday was filled with love and laughter! Wishing you a wonderful year ahead...you are so deserving, my friend! Hugs!

BuzzinBumble 05-30-2013 09:28 AM

My quilty thoughts have been jitterbugging off in 5 different directions for this month's swap. I can't make up my mind and have made a real mess taking out fabrics as ideas strike me. My partner will just have to choose which she wouldlike best. :o

No, this was a new one. It aired again last night. I think you can see it on Animal Planet's web site

Krystyna 05-30-2013 11:26 AM

Unless we have any more sign ups, we're good to go. I know who your partners are ... and you don't ... ha ha ha. :D

You are such a tease. I am ready for my partner.

Krystyna 05-30-2013 12:11 PM

Sign up closes at Noon EST tomorrow ... and I will be gone all day ... so sad. Maybe I'll put partners up late tonight and we'll deal with anyone who comes along after that. Good idea?

BuzzinBumble 05-30-2013 12:21 PM

Oh Yes! Yup Yup Yup....Good idea! Heh heh heh heh.

Linny 05-30-2013 12:25 PM

Good idea.

QuilterMomma 05-30-2013 01:09 PM

I have my top already done. I will just have to quilt and put binding on. Oh yeah, the label. Right. Have to do the label. LOL

Psychomomquilter 05-30-2013 01:44 PM

I am not going to do it this month

Lynnie25 05-30-2013 02:07 PM
