One more little note ... I paired those who do want Halloween with others who do ... and vice versa ... but some of you said you'd go either way, so please just check with your partner to be sure you're on the same page.

Krystyna 09-30-2012 11:56 AM

Oh boy. I'm on a roll. I gave SusaninKansas herself as a partner ... make that Buslady. *sigh*

wanda lou 09-30-2012 12:56 PM

thank you K.

Well, at least she will save on postage.

Dragonfly Nana 09-30-2012 03:10 PM

Woo hoo - Partners! Thank you Krystyna.

Let the PMing begin!

nancia 09-30-2012 06:23 PM

lucky susaninkansas-- she knows just what she likes!!
and lucky that she now has buslady as a partner!

Krystyna 09-30-2012 07:20 PM

Yeah, I was going to take Buslady as a second ... but happily Susan doesn't have to talk to herself about what she likes! Man, I'm losing my mind these days.

whoooo whooo Marytoddliz tada! oh boy she will be fun to make something for as I think she loves halloween. In fact I finished one tonight. I am however Krystyna avail to be a stand in for anyone who missed the sign up boat or bogs out.. fall or halloween is fine just hollar if you need help! I love all these colors. In fact so much here is a tiny peak at my start to halloween decorating.. yippee.. oh and a sneak peak at the dq which I am thinking.. keep me! keep me! lol wonder if she will like it.. the pic behind the ghost tree is one I made with fabric pieces.. snippets of cowboys racing through the desert snow.. no piece of your fabric is too small lol..

Crazy Quiltin Robin 09-30-2012 08:25 PM

Elisabrat ..... love your Halloween Tree... awesome .... Krystyna pmed my partner .... and girl I have played all weekend with my Oct. quilt Idea now (because I did it in the company of the quilty girls ) I have to make 5 more ........lol.... they all want one ..... but I have told them that I have a baby quilt and a king size Tennsee Waltz to get done ... wish me luck ...happy quilting friends o mine ....... and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Krystyna 10-01-2012 03:49 AM

Elisabrat, I just love your scardy cat. Robin, sounds like you are having too much fun!
My partner is new to us - QuiltingMomof3 - and she is such a lovely person. I hope all of you have as much fun getting to know your partners as I am.
Well, back to creating goodies to sell at the Irish Day Fair next Saturday!

Elisabrat 10-01-2012 04:08 AM

Oh Krystyna I hope you do well at the faire, is it attended big? its that time isnt it for craft fairs and such I forget its been a while since I have been in one. Now its all coming back the late summer Sept rush to make those items in quantities. Ornaments galore and in the end maybe a dozen that didnt find homes .. ah I am glad to be making a couple here for trade and not whipping out 100 of this and that.. egad that makes me tired just thinking on it. Those of you in this crafty circuit more power to you. I would love to see pictures. I can't walk at fairs any longer but I sure miss them and all the pretty things.. pictures girls pictures (and boys too if we have any)

I am oh so ready for halloween but my mind is already on fall turkeys as I need one of those for my girl by mid October. I send a package every month with a wall hanging and some appropriate seasonal goodies. This month she got a huge jar of candy corn and a whole slew of things one can do with them (aka martha stewart like) and she is in glue heaven. I personally am suprised at how many different things one can do with them. Eating them sucks lol so I guess glue is not a bad solution to a horrible candy. I guess its .. indian corn and pumpkins for Thanksgiving? yucko.. give me another idea anyone help? cant do it to her twice..

Krystyna 10-01-2012 04:39 AM

Thanks, Linda (Elisabrat)! I have never done a fair before -- except for an exhibit of our community garden with my cub scout den! This will be a new experience for me. We are embroidering t-shirts with Irish themes, embroidering tea towels with Irish recipes (corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, Blarney Stones and others), making lots of free standing lace jewelry in Irish themes as well as seaside themes, and I've also put together lavender and rose sachets with green lace. Blaze and Melissa (my son and his fiancee) have made lots of sparkly scarves too. Oh, and I've made free standing lace tiaras with lots of bling and we're billing them as Irish Princess crowns, LOL! It is a huge event here and I just hope we make our money back for the booth fee. I guess we can always sell the left overs on Etsy. Fingers crossed! Melissa is out of work and Blaze had his hours cut back severely since the restaurant he works in is in the area that is mostly a summer place.

urgodschild2 10-01-2012 06:32 AM

Yes I sent my DQ out but it is wandering around MA checking out the sites there. My partner and I are hoping that it shows up today. I mailed it over a week ago and the destination was less then 1 hour driving time from where I was staying with my friend.

buslady 10-01-2012 12:52 PM

Krystyna, Much as I am looking forward to my new partner, I will miss having you for a partner this month. We are already in communication and I love it when I get a partner that likes to write back and forth a little. Oh, I had to re-read your post. Your son's name is Blaze? One of the twins name is Mason Blaze. I had never heard the name spelled that way and I begged his dad not to do it. I don't know why, It fits him so well! And he likes it too. I think this is the first time I have seen it spelled that way. Must be a "creative" thing in our bloodlines. LOL!! Well, gotta meet my buds at the restaurant. After dinner we all drive up to a class we are taking from what I call a "traditional" quilter. No string quilting, you don't even use a rotary cutter. At first I wasn't so sure about it. Then I saw what she did. and I thought I liked it. Then I tried to do it. Back to not so sure!! LOL We'll see how block #2 goes.

Krystyna 10-01-2012 01:32 PM

Have fun, Onalee! Sounds like a challenge and a half!
I didn't want my son to be another Robert, Michael or Stephen ... or anything else that someone could turn into a shortened name ... so Blaze it was. Saint Blaise is sort of the patron saint of the Heimlich maneuver. And, like his patron, animals love my son.

Today was one of the worst - late for work, spilled food on my clothes, bumped into my desk right on the bruise I made when I did the same thing much harder on Friday and then I smashed my right index finger tip in the car door! Aaaahhh!
But...then I came home to find 2 squishys - The first was shared fabric from Judith for our Round Robin and the second was from my July DQ partner. Life got in the way and I told her to put me to the back burner while she caught up on other commitments.
Boy was it worth the wait. Aren't these just the cutest? Such cuddly flannel you want to just touch them over and over, and all the little appliqued birds and ribbon flowers - not to mention the cutest bug buttons.
Thank you Eagleone2you2.....I love them!

Krystyna 10-01-2012 02:45 PM

Paula! Ow ow ow!!!
:-* kissing your booboo
And wow wow wow!
Magnificent!

Dragonfly Nana 10-01-2012 02:57 PM

TY Krystyna - I did not know how hard it was to do things without that finger - like type, use a mouse, write......I hope it won't impede my sewing! That would really *&^% me off!
Too sore tonight to find out - so I guess I will just watch TV as this trying to type is a pain...literally!

Crazy Quiltin Robin 10-01-2012 03:17 PM

Paula heres a (((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))) for you ... and that little quilt is beautiful .... hope tomorrow is better ...... if you want I'll send you my special bubble I get it when stuff gets too much ...... lol...... CQR

jillnjo 10-01-2012 04:50 PM

My, you had one bad day, Paula!! I feel your pain! The little quilts you received are darling. What size is each one?

Linny 10-01-2012 05:04 PM

Contacted my partner today (cuppy), and hopefully will have her quilt in the mail by the end of the week....had fun with it partly because it is something new for me, and also because fall time and halloween is a great time of year.

Aunt Janey 10-01-2012 05:42 PM

Contacted hobbykat1955 by Pm and we are both excited about Halloween being the theme for the month.
Found out we both have cats..
Wishing everyone a great week and try to be careful as there are a lot of crazies out there.

Dragonfly Nana 10-01-2012 07:01 PM

TY QCR & jillnjo At least it isn't broken LOL

The quilts are each 8" x 10" and the flannel makes them sooooo soft. I just want to keep touching them :o
Very comforting after such a rotten day.

urgodschild2 10-01-2012 07:05 PM

Paula Oweeee so sorry that you finger hurts. I love the quilts you got......so doggone cute.

I have contacted my partner and we decided on cutsey halloween DQ. Let the fun begin. Hmmmmmmmm.

Lynnie25 10-01-2012 10:36 PM

Paula, not a good day for you, bruise on bruise is way too much pain and you know you should have your sewing fingers/hand/arm/shoulder wrapped in cotton wool so nothing nasty happens to impede your DQ creativity.

BUT.... I love your little DQ and I have eagleowl2u2 for my partner this month :) so let the trick and treating begin !!

nancia 10-01-2012 10:58 PM

urgodschild2, i have picked out 3 fabrics so far, but i can feel i'm not done! may take swatches to my favorite lqs ( which isn't very local) and see who jumps into my arms and makes me take them home! i am looking for a new source of solids since the ones from JA's shrank in cold water. never heard of such a thing! but they did hold their color, as did the batiks in ds's quilt. that was a very pleasant surprise and the happy waste of 4 color catchers. i have found connecting threads quilters basics or candy or whatever they call their solids to be good and hold their color, too, but i'd like slightly heavier yarns.
paula-- i'm so sorry for your bad day and so happy it will never be that day again! big hugs and kisses and if you need them, i have strawberry shortcake bandaids. ( don't tell anyone, they'll all want one). they are guaranteed to work twice as fast as regular bandaids to get a smile from a child. and i've seen them work on adults, too!

marytoddliz 10-01-2012 11:23 PM

Hummmm, I am thinking Cats, Black ones~ OK Partner are you ready for a trick or a treat??? Spiders or Cats!

Elisabrat 10-02-2012 12:45 AM

Marybeth, oh such a hard choice.. spiders or cats.. let me think on that for a nano second.. cats please! I am excited about trading too and when did you get my Henry cat to take photos for you? they could be brother and sister cats. He is a pretty cool love bug cat. When I go to bed he zooms into the room gets there before me and rolls into my arms for his evening pet and snooze. Henry time.. I swear he can be anywhere in the house but I go to bed and zoom zoom zoom and surely that is not me.

I am so happy to hear the excitement here. fun city. BLAZE? sounds like a hot guy from one of those romance novels.. and the room went silent, her mouth went dry as he entered the cabin. HE slowly unbuttoned his shirt, his skin glistening from a hard days work, the muscles standing out like.. yeah that is Blaze. You cant kid me, patron saint of animals.. he is a heart stealer is what he is. Same with the other one, trouble in the making, women will drop at their feet, forgive them anything.. those eyes.. ok ok.. I also wanted a name you couldnt shorten. My first son is Derek. I never heard it thought it was great. Then watched tv in the hospital the morning after he was born. There is this football player on big big boy named.. derek. sigh. and I brought him home and everyone started calling him BIG D. ok so much for not shortening the name. D doesnt mind it , momma does. lol.. and my daughter, named her Genavieve with the full intent of calling her that only when she was in trouble.. Gena was what she grew up with NOW she says no one calls me that mom its GENAVIEVE please.. I said I am mom your Gena kiddo until I am mad then your in big time trouble. That is your yelling name. lol funny how names seem so important. I wonder do they help shape you because of them? thoughts..

K, I was thinking the same thing as I read it, that is my 12 year old grandson yuo are talking about. I don't know how you got the description so accurate!!! He is going to be a lady killer. And there is two of him. He is an identical twin. Logan Bailey and Mason Blaze.

Krystyna 10-02-2012 09:54 AM

My Blaze is 25 and he is a lady killer. He is adorable, but mostly all the old ladies in church love him!

JuanitaBean 10-02-2012 10:19 AM

Sent PM to partern got two dq started Halloween and one Fall so I'll see what she likes best.

Sneak peek for you miss Brat!

Hehe I had to laugh when I read your description of Blaze, although the name does make one think of a sexy God, I know just what you mean Krystyna, my son is almost 35 and the girls have been super crazy over him since he was a baby! I have girlfriends who tell me he is Sexy! The last thing you want to hear as a mamma bear!

But I am so proud of my Son he really turned into a fine man and this mamma is still over protective of her baby boy! I have one son and one Daughter and would love to live closer to either one of them! I just say thank God for Skype and long distance phone plans!
