This is getting too funny.. I'm spending way too much time playing with 1.5" squares.. but it is very relaxing.. I don't remember any time that I've spent watching so much t.v...
Mary took Vena away from me, as she was over booked.. I am getting a little mixed up with the names.. I'll get over it..
My hand doesn't hurt from using the scissor, as it is very sharp, and I go through about ten folds, but more so from the mouse, and computer.. Think I'm addicted to modern technology.. I use a laptop at work, and home, but like a cordless mouse.. I have rotary cutters, and use them, but the pices are small, and annoy me..
I started to open the little packages I got in the last swaps, and I'm a little amazed that I have found very little duplication.. Yes.. I was curious when I got them, and looked , but really didn't have time to play with them..

barri1 also got me as a swap parnter in the Curious Quilter Swap. I advised her that I'm using the same charms there as I am for this one, hoping she doesn't mind duplicates. If there's a way I can designate a particular baggie for her I'd add different fabrics. Mariposa, any help there?

Mariposa 08-01-2012 08:38 AM

Evie- I can try to not give you or her each others' squares~~ We have 32 folks signed up so far~~ :)

barri1 08-01-2012 09:50 AM

Mariposa.. You were able to do it for me, and Twisted Quilter. We've been sharing scraps. Please don't go out of your way.. You have enough to do.. I'm okay with whatever..

SheriR 08-01-2012 09:51 AM

Mariposa, I'll put a note in my package and let you know who I swapped with on CQ. It does sound like it could turn into a swapping nightmare. I have worried about someone getting dups though.

Havplenty 08-01-2012 09:55 AM

well if you get dups between the two swaps, just use the dups for other projects. we are going to turn this into a nightmare for mariposa and it's not due to her swap but because of another swap we are in that has nothing to do with the quilt board swap. let's try not to make more work for mariposa.

in real life, we can figure out what to do with any dups we get.

Nelco 08-01-2012 10:01 AM

I do the same way and I also use my 2.5 sq ruler.

Evie 08-01-2012 10:29 AM

Everyone, as I've said before, I'm OK with dupes. Some of mine are sewn together in the same quadrant because they look good together. I love symmetry! Mariposa, don't go out of your way on my account. I'll take any of these little charms!

SheriR 08-01-2012 10:43 AM

Well I'm happy with what I get too. As long as everyone else is. :D

sew4nin 08-01-2012 10:46 AM

I am not worried about getting duplicates, but I try not to give duplicates to others. Swapping still gives me more variety. I will use whatever I get - I'm just enjoying myself
Thank you Mariposa

I may have to join in as long as it is any fabrics :)

Oh yay! The more the merrier. I just sent you a PM for Boom 8. I couldn't resist.

Anyone else out there interested in starting a therapy group for those of us addicted to swapping?

barri1 08-01-2012 03:41 PM

Of course you need to join, Loving Isabella.. We are having way too much fun.. I also have a feeling Mariposa likes to get tortured..
I am also getting all kinds of scraps.. I have a box coming from someone on Curious, and someone on the board.. I can't wait to share.. I also think that I never cut into scraps I have in containers.. I'm a little upset that I can't start sewing them together, as I am working on four scrap quilts at the same time for my staff.. I'm sort of too disciplined to start another project while in the middle of another.. I'm also swamped at work.. I've been so busy with everything that the dog fell asleep waiting for me..

Oh, I didn't mean to cause trouble for Mariposa... I was just trying to figure out if I needed to make different packages for the two swaps. I think I have four who are in both, so as there is time to send these to Mariposa, it's worth it to make the different ones up. I'm sure that sooner or later there'll be another swap that I can use the originals for. I'll be ahead of the game for the next round (wherever that ends up being), lol.

And, as I mentioned, I'm getting so many more pieces prepped, I'll have squares and strips for many, many projects ready, so it's all good.

Mariposa 08-01-2012 04:17 PM

peaceandjoy- you could also just send me a note as to who those four are, and I can "not" trade your squares with theirs~ just a thought! We do already have 32 folks signed up, and more interested. :)

booklady 08-03-2012 01:16 PM

Mariposa, I was going to send in my square packets early if it's ok with you. I start school in two weeks and I won't have a life of my own after that! They tore my library apart for new carpet and paint during the summer so I know I'll have a major mess to clean up when I get back. I have the address from the last swap. Thanks!

Mariposa 08-03-2012 02:32 PM

*Anyone who wants to send their squares, anytime is fine! :)**

Samantha67 08-10-2012 05:43 PM

Hi! I'm a "newbie" to your group but I'm really looking forward to playing with you all! I'll be sending in 30 sets from Australia! ...and posting early! LOL

marytoddliz 08-10-2012 05:45 PM

Well I really tried to mail my package out today~ but it was not to be! I got to the Post office late, I had no idea that it was almost 5PM, I would have waited, well the mail lady was in a hurry to start her weekend! I wanted to send it to you with a note and I did not have time to write it?! So now I have finished my note and I found a envelope that is going to be reused and will work perfectly... So first thing tomorrow morning when I wake up it will go in the mail! I have to get up in time because the PO is only open for 1 1/2 hours tomorrow...

We only have PO Boxes here in Crestline so you can, and usually do see everyone at the post office, it is a hot place to pick up town gossip, since I hardly know anyone, I am not one to hang out there, I just found out today that the PO is only open from 11:00 to 12:30. Can you imagine driving to work to work just 1.5 hours, maybe they work in the back for a little while too. So If I get up in time I will put it in the mail tomorrow. If not... When is the deadline again?

That is pretty scary. We have six post offices within four miles. My P.O is three blocks away. All our mail gets delivered to the house. There are no mail boxes at the curb. Mine is open on Sat from 9-2:30. VS p.o is open late all week, and Sat until 5:00.. Lawrence p.o. is open on Sun 9-1:30.. Some have three people working at a time.. Mine only has two.
Even though we have the post offices, you probably have air quality!!!!!

Mariposa 08-11-2012 06:16 AM

marytoddliz-- you have plenty of time! :)

Our PO is only open M-F 9-5. I'd have to drive 20+ miles to find one open for a few hours on Sat.

Welcome, Samantha! I hope I get one of your baggies. I just received one today from one of your countryquilters in another swap. I love these swaps and wish there were more international participants.
