Equally impressive, sewbiz….I’d love to see this in real time….I doubt picture does it justice..

Hello everyone, hope all are as well as can be. I have been in a creative rut, and honestly didn't know if I would be able to come up with a wall hanging idea for this round. BUT, I think I have an idea. I better get moving on it, but I think it will come out ok.
|
Sewbiz looks like a lot of work went into that one. It's beautiful.
|
Sewbizgirl, love your wall hanging. you do beautiful work. I am sure any one of us would like to receive your WH.
I am still looking for a theme for my wall hanging. Just thinking re/white/blue??? |
Hard at work

Everybody’s progress this quarter looks pretty good. I like everything I’ve seen.
Hard at work on my wall hanging and all the piecing of these little pieces 😂 |
Pretty colors, Skaduzy!! I see a heart! Now, I’m super curious….
|
Hi Teen, Actually 16 hearts but it’s nothing fancy just many pieces..…my hubby doesn’t think it looks like what I told him it was. Sometimes guys just don’t get it. 😂 🤣
|
After seeing all the beautiful quilts at the Paducah Quilt Show last week, I think I need to do more background quilting on my wall hanging. So, the final quilt will look better than the picture I showed, hopefully!
|
Skaduzy….guys totally don’t get it…hahahahaha…
sewbiz….I’m always inspired to the next level when I go to quilt shows. You are doing amazing quilting on your machine since you got it. Whatever you do will be beautiful, no doubt. |
Thanks Teen. I was kind of surprised at how many quilters used stipple in those beautiful quilts. Not necessarily all over, but to fill certain areas. Tiny stipple, especially.
|
It’s a great fill for dense quilting. Show quilts are, typically, really dense quilting, I have found. I like it on some quilts but not on all quilts. I did dense FMQ on my domestic for one large quilt. Took forever… lol..
|
Everyone, I finished my wall hanging and sent Rhonda my info.
I went with red/white/blue theme. I had some leftover batik tumbling blocks cut for another quilt, so I used them for my center. Surrounded by a white strip with red and blue stars. The a checker board border. Total size is 27 and a half inches square. Wish I could post a pic for you but I hope the descriptions works. I also tried some of my ruler work quilting. Not fancy and a little messed up in spots, but I think it looks good. Hope everyone will like it. |
Skaduzy, those do look like little pieces, but so pretty. Sewbizgirl, I am sure whatever you come up with will be delightful.
I can't believe I am in this group of awesome quilters. Thanks for letting me join all those years ago. |
The show quilts I saw in Paducah were, of course, quilted into cardboard! But I saw lots of ideas for background fills, without quilting nearly that dense. Lots of people used swirls of different sizes, and believe it or not, stipple! Stipple has made it to the big time, ha ha!
When your background is looking "baggy", it needs some filler. I'll have fun putting some more quilting on it. |
Rumbols, your WH sounds great. Can't wait to see it. Nothing wrong with leaving something to the imagination.

This is my finished wall hanging

Ooh, that's gorgeous, R-sea! Love. love, love it. Especially all the little quilts hanging over railings. Too cute!
|
That is extremely cute R-Sea. I love houses on quilts anyways but yours takes the cake.
|
Wow..R-Sea…..another gorgeous creation. Your work always amazes me. This is just awesome!
|
Thanks sewbizgirl, annaquilts and teen I have been wanting to do this one for some time . It is a house I have always thought of as an American house therefore one of the swappers may like it
|
I'm loving all the teasers and quilts shown so far for this swap! Sadly, I think I am going to have to sit this swap out. Way too many personal things happening in my personal life to have much time to quilt at the moment. Doesn't stop me from thinking about it though :-) I'll be watching and jealous of all the lovelies being sent around the world and hoping next month is more settled in my life.
|
Sorry to miss you, Lena!
|
Awww, Lena….so sorry you aren’t able to participate this round and hope everything will go well for you. Look forward to you joining in the next one, if possible…

A big WOW R-sea. Very impressive!
|
R-sea, your wall hanging is amazing! That’s a lot of work!
|
Hey Heathers Mom….did you come up with a plan yet? I look forward to seeing your creations. 😊

Yes I have. It is almost done. Hand quilting on it of course. I hope that the group likes this one. It is a little "different" then a traditional pieced work. I even added a happy fun backing print. ;) |
Your hand quilting, Heathersmom, is exceptional. (I was lucky to receive yours from previous swap). Can’t wait to see it!

skaduzy, try some 'big stitch' hand quilting. It's the only kind I can do! And it's very 'in style' right now.
|
Thanks for the hint sewbizgirl….I’ll have to try that. It will probably be easier for me. 😀
|
Love your wall hanging R-sea. Looks like an old fashion country home. I love those homes.
Thanks everyone for the compliments on my wall hanging. Hope whoever gets it will post a pic. Going to miss you Lena. Good luck with everything going on in your life. |

Well everyone here is my wall hanging for this round. I am hoping it is not to plain. The 3D pinwheels remind me of summer when I was little and we would buy pinwheels for the yard at the grocery store checkout. On the back there is a fun hot air balloon print. In the center there is a hand quilted feather motif using variegated quilting thread. There are father swoops near each corner as well. I think I will include a lint roller in this swap. Certainly a last minute de-linting will need to be done before this one ships out.

Heathermom2opmc, good looking wall hanging and the hand quilting is terrific! The pin wheels are so colorful against the background. You did a great job.
|
Super cute WH, Heathermom. Love the print on the back too.
I agree, black fabric is like a lint magnet, LOL! |
Super cute WH, heathersmom! Hand quilting looks wonderful, too!
|
I've done tesselated flowers that looked like these pinwheel but they looked flat and yours look like they're moving...Just like I'd visualized mine. Please can you share how you did it? And I love your hand quilting too and have never done it
