That Santa block is the cutest little thing, great idea!! belfrybat glad you joined. New swap on the board by anastasia, it's a table runner or table block, sign up until the 15th, turn around isn't until after the holidays so you have lots of time. This 1 is winter themed. Check it out should be fun. Would love to see all of you join in this swap.

I have been remiss at welcoming our newer swappers! A warm welcome to Bbemerald, Pink Lady, Tealfalcon and Vinae officially! If I have missed anyone please forgive me and give me a shout out? We have already seen some of their adorable blocks being posted. If my count is correct, we are now at 33 participants...two people have dropped out...TheMamaHauser & MizMelly. I'm supposing that my mailbox is going to start getting busy, busy now!

javin22 10-26-2012 09:14 AM

tealfalcon- so cute Santa suit blocks. I want one of those too.

javin22 10-26-2012 09:20 AM

Ronda- my blocks are out for delivery to you today. Let me know when you get them. Thanks so much. Vinae

urgodschild2 10-26-2012 09:33 AM

Ok QuilterMomma, You know if we never lurked on these sights we wouldn't be tempted to join or have others talk us into it. LOL. I lurked for just a few post and I was hooked. I have 4 sets done and I am getting my DQ for NOV done right now. If I finish it before Monday.....I may make two more sets. I want one of everything I have seen so far. They are so adorable.

QuilterMomma 10-26-2012 09:59 AM

I am thinking that my daughter, Marlena, needs a nice sized Christmas quilt for when she leaves and it to fit on her bed for the holiday season. I would like one like that for myself, but not yet. I have one set completely done and am 3/4 done with the second set. The design for the second has to be 9.5" square because the 6.5 seems real crowded so it is larger. I made it green on a white snowflake background. I think it is real pretty. Will post photos when they are done. Not sure if I will frame any of them yet but if they do not seem fancy enough I just may. I better pm rw so she knows I am in this for sure. We will see how many sets I get done. Another one I have is a Christmas bell which is real pretty also. Would you like the snowman on the hillside toile design? I also have the sleigh and horses design if ya like. I am making one extra for myself so I can add them to Marlena's quilt. I am going to have to put this UFO into next month when we get the blocks back. It has waited this long it can wait a little more. Will put me in the real holiday spirit if I do later next month anyway. Well, off to pm rw 4 su.

tealfalcon 10-26-2012 10:22 AM

working on my 3 set....and a little hint...snowmen!!! i have been given the green light to make another set of the santa suits...so if your all nice to me i might just make another set lol...

Welcome QuilterMomma! So happy to have you join in the fun and it is super fun to anticipate all the blocks and what mix we might all end up with isn't it?

Can't wait to see what else you creative girls come up with (can I say girls since so far we have no guy joining in) and yes, Vinae, I will post when I receive your blocks...my mail doesn't come into my home until 5:30pm or so west coast time...

QuilterMomma 10-26-2012 11:34 AM

I just love snowmen. I think your right. The ornament, bell, and poinsetta are good, but I need to do a snowman. I found some pretty red snowflake fabric strips I had cut up from a different wallhanging a couple of years ago, will use that on the snowmen. Now why must I have to work a job when i can be home having fun.

kensington 10-26-2012 12:01 PM

No one thinks Tealfalcon should be allowed to make the Santa suit block for everyone? ;-)

This is killing me... I stalk this thread every day but haven't signed up yet...

Put me down for 6 and if it kills me (which between disabled husband, kids, dog, 4 cats, ft job and ft college courses, it just might)... I WILL find a way to get these finished!!

But I'm greedy and I want more than 30 blocks. :-)

javin22 10-26-2012 03:27 PM

OH!!! It is Perfect!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! If I don't happen to get one of these in the swap, would you be willing to swap with me anyway? I just LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! Thanks, Vinae

dottie dodge 10-26-2012 05:00 PM

I've been really busy and haven't had time to keep track of what blocks are being made. I don't know which one I like the best and hope to find in my return envelope. They are all wonderful! But that sleigh scene is pretty cool. I may be asking for some side trades too.;) SueD

Happy, Happy, Happy! :D

QuilterMomma 10-26-2012 06:56 PM

Then the sleigh ride it is. I generally do them in blue, love how they show up, might try one in the gold to see how it looks. The red is not a good color in that one.

javin22 10-26-2012 08:52 PM

YIPPIE!!!! My Dream come true!!!! Thanks so much. Vinae

So glad they made it and you're welcome. :) Thank you...

urgodschild2 10-27-2012 08:19 AM

The Sleigh Ride is a MUST HAVE. That is so darn cute and absolutely beautiful.

QuilterMomma 10-27-2012 09:10 AM

Have the sleigh rides done, the bell/poinsetta done, the ornament of tranquility done, now onto the bell. I think I will also do the poinsetta and holly. It is pretty.

Fraew 10-27-2012 09:22 AM

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

I embroidered 2 sets of snowmen last night. They are blue cotton on Kona white (you'd never guess from the photos). Do you like them as is? Or do you want blue borders, corners or something else? I like how we are working these blocks out together. :)

jaba 10-27-2012 09:28 AM

They are so cute Fraew, either way for me. I always figure if I happen to get one and need it a little bigger for the correct placement in the quilt, I can add a border. Whatever you decide will be great I'm sure.

Pink Lady 10-27-2012 11:32 AM

Oh I love the sleigh rides growing up we had a couple teams of horses and gave sleigh rides. The snowmen are sooooo cute I love them. I need some money I want a machine to do all these wonderful blocks :)

rwquilts 10-27-2012 11:49 AM

Frae, your snowmen are adorable! I've been waiting to see what fun blocks you were going to post...as to border, corners, etc. If your embroidery is smaller and you have more space I think borders of some kind add a nice touch, but if the embroidery work covers most of the block, it's entirely up to you! Your embroidery work appears to take up most of the space and they look awesome as they are, but if you want borders, I'm sure they'll be wonderful as well...what fun, fun, fun!!! It's so great that some of you have embroidery machines and can make such fun pretties so those of us who don't can still swap and get one or two.

QuilterMomma 10-27-2012 12:11 PM

I am looking forward to those pieced blocks. Those are really nice. Marlena thought they were perfect, ie why I am in. I have finished up the bells now and takinga b reak so I can get on the longarm. I am making snowflakes for the craft. This has been good, I have also finished up the bargello I needed done, a block that needed done, and sewed up my triangle ornaments. I have even cut up the blocks for another quilt that a customer has paid me to o for them. It is looking really nice. Had to switch out a color and I think it worked out well. back to work for me ladies, potty/water break over. YEs, I will post photos when I am done longarming, also I need to trim up the blocks so they look nice.

Fraew, love those snowmen. They are going to look pretty with what I have.

quiltpd 10-27-2012 03:08 PM

Quiltermomma - the sleigh ride is gorgeous ! It's when I see something beautiful like that that I pine for an embroidery machine.
