ok Maybe on WEd I will have time to just play and read the manual on how to do the embroidery machine. I also have the stuff you put on the back for backing ....I think that is what it is called. I guess I am not that bad after all. I got mine in 2006. My BFF gave her embroidery machine to a friend out here in CA before she moved back to NH. The friend was suppose to pay her for it and she never did. My friend still has all the cards that go into a card reader. Have no clue about that as mine has a disc drive. One more set of winter blocks to do and then I can play.

Wow love all the new blocks. Love the gold snow flakes to!

QuilterMomma 10-30-2012 08:05 AM

We are going to have some pretty quilts with these blocks. Getting excited. Need to finish trimming up mine today and will get in mail tomorrow but no later than Friday, just in case I can't get it done right away. I know, you want photos, I am behind on that also. Will get there.

rwquilts 10-30-2012 09:40 AM

No worries QuilterMomma...you have plenty of time. Breathe and do them as you can...we'll look forward to seeing more pictures. I agree about the blocks...I'm bummed that I can't have one of everything...but then also happy, because no matter what blocks I end up with, I will love, because I haven't seen yet a block I don't want. :)

I trimmed up these three sets. Trimmed up my bells, but they need a border because the design did not fit neatly in the required package I had in mind. So need to add to them to get them squared up.

QuilterMomma 10-30-2012 01:06 PM

Do you think they need bordered? They do fill up most of the space on the white. If so, let me know and I will border them. Will have to go and dig awhile in fabric to find something. Off to do some more later.

tealfalcon 10-30-2012 01:07 PM

wow quiltermomma love those blocks they are beautiful!!!

craft phanatic 10-30-2012 01:21 PM

quiltermomma, they are stunning!

QuilterMomma 10-30-2012 01:37 PM

The backing fabric is snowflakes which just adds to the motifs. Will post the others when I get a chance, they are in a tin now until I get home. They were bad because they did not "measure" up correctly.:D

kensington 10-30-2012 02:20 PM

You probably know more about it then I do, but when I did my applique blocks, I cut my background fabric 1/2 inch too large purposely, That way if they pulled and came out smaller I could still trim them to the size I wanted. Does that make sense? Leave them larger until after your pattern is embroidered on and then cut? HTH.

kensington 10-30-2012 02:23 PM

PS... love them all. Love the red especially.

QuilterMomma 10-30-2012 02:50 PM

That is what I did, but they design did not lend itself to the 9.5" size so I need to add borders to fill the block up and make it look nicer. It will look more complete. If I get the two quilts quitled tonight, then will work on them and post a photo for you.

Yes, this swap is officially now closed. And yes, I am excited to have all the blocks mailed to me and swapped out and everyone getting their blocks back home again. It will be fun!

Really stunning blocks and I don't think they need bordering. Personally, I'd rather receive them plain and if they need to be larger for my design, would prefer bordering them myself.

Tracibug -- wonderful happy Cowboy Christmas block!

QuilterMomma 10-31-2012 07:52 AM

I will leave these as is then and get the one set bordered. RW will we be getting these back before Thanksgiving? Just wondering because if I don't get to go to Montana for the weekend, would love to work on this quilt that weekend while putting up Christmas decorations and such. Would just pull in the holiday spirit and my daughter has already been asking about it, she is more excited than I am. When you get that response from a receipient, you can't help but get to work on a quilt.

QuilterMomma 10-31-2012 07:53 AM

Oh, just lvoe that cowboy Christmas block.

The last date to wait for blocks to arrive is Nov. 12. My plan is to have the blocks swapped out by Saturday the 17th and heading home by Mon. the 19th. But please don't hold my feet to the fire and burn me if something happens and I have to make minor adjustments? I will definately have them in the mail before Thanksgiving, but some may not receive them that quickly...just depends upon how quickly and accurately I can swap these puppies out and if everyone sends the blocks sooner than the 12th, I can begin swapping a bit earlier. :)

QuilterMomma 10-31-2012 08:24 AM

Glad I live near you because if you put in mail on the 21st, I will have by 23rd then. That would be cool. If, I am not going to Montana. Won't know until they tell daughter if she gets her vacation time for then and DH may have to work. I did not mean to put pressure on you RW, just palnning my world of UFOs that are to be done if I need to occupy my time that weekend. I am using the Christmas tree for the Craft show so it will be set up anyway. That will really put us in the mood for the holiday. LOL You are such a dear Ronda.

rwquilts 10-31-2012 08:27 AM

I've suggested to DH that we start watching the Christmas movies (we have a bazillion) and he looked at me like I was insane...really???? Oh yea...he's not in my studio working with christmas fabrics and blocks...duh! LOL! :)

Love the cowboy boots but then I love all the blocks:) What a week it has been here and it is not near over.We are doing major reno,s and well on the weekend my red nose reindeer took off with my Kaleidoscope blocks and the button for the snow cats can not be found:( I have looked everywhere. Will be mailing my blocks tomorrow without the reindeer if he does not show up:( Then I measure the joy blocks and they are only 6 1/4 so will not be sending them grrr will have to make wall hangings with them. Not been my week so far my truck also die and $3000 plus to fix it so it will be going to the graveyard for trucks. On the plus side I did get a new window that opens in a room that will be mt new sewing room.

Wish I had of measure the joy blocks before I made them all:) Just was not thinking the pattern said 6 inches that will teach me. Will post more in a bit the storm is getting closer so better turn this off for now.

rwquilts 10-31-2012 08:32 AM

Pink Lady, can't wait to get your blocks! So pretty! The Joy blocks will make a terrific wall hanging though and I may even copy your idea for my own home if you don't mind? :) Sorry about the finance issues...those are never fun I know.

craft phanatic 10-31-2012 09:50 AM

Pink Lady, those blocks are awesome!

owlvamp 10-31-2012 10:46 AM

Okay you everyone . . . I did my best on these squares. The "candy jars" are 2 blocks of the same print; the "mittens" are 2 blocks of the same colored mittens. At first I thought I'd draw a cording to connect the mittens but then I didn't feel I could do a good job, so decided to leave the mittens alone. Looks like I'll need to upload the other picture in just a minute :-)

Your jars and mittens are adoreable! I like the jar with the Christmas lights in it. My niece has a jar like that. It's simple and cute decoration.

QuilterMomma 10-31-2012 02:01 PM

Oh I want one of each of those please............. Marlena would love those. i don't have any blocks like those. Please Please Please, ok I will get six sets done then so I can have one of those. Demanding aren't I.

jclinganrey 10-31-2012 02:10 PM

I'm finishing my second set of 5 (and am thinking about making a 3rd set). Just curious, Ronda - - - how many people do you have signed up for this swap?

I'm ready for you to PM me your address anytime!

Jane

rwquilts 10-31-2012 03:49 PM

Super cute blocks Katie! We have 37 people signed up, but some of those haven't posted, so I don't know how many will actually end up playing with us, but hopefully it will be a good amount. :)

craft phanatic 10-31-2012 04:36 PM

Katie, both those sets are fantastic!

urgodschild2 10-31-2012 05:13 PM

Ok I finished appliqueing my last set. It is a Penguin. I will post a picture tomorrow as I have to put a frame around the blocks. Then they will measure 12 1/2. Then I will mail them off tomorrow too. I am sure that they will get there within the 12 days deadline. Yeah. I want one of those ornaments.....they are gorgeous.

urgodschild2 10-31-2012 05:15 PM

I love QuilterMomma's embroidered sets. They are so pretty.

KLTQuilts 10-31-2012 06:42 PM

Ladies, Thank you for your kinds words . . . I might try to do another set of either the jars or mittens :-) before mailing them off to Ms. Ronda.
