The block is named Artistic Santa Ana from eQuiltPatterns.com. It comes as a PDF download for about a $1 and is paper pieced.

I like the block because I think it looks striking in a neat and streamlined way.

Kathy's theme was batiks and she is making a blue/purple quilt.

Thank you. The block with the platypus I kind of made up with the idea of "projecting a picture" of Australian wildlife.

Not so sure that it worked :( but I liked the fabrics anyway - Australian wattle and Aboriginal dot painting.

Deecee, I really like your platypus block. The projection idea is great!

I got a squishie yesterday!! Winter012 sent two wonderful rainbow blocks. She had to resize the patterns and learn a new technique to make them, and did a beautiful job. Thanks! I love the rainbows.

I overlapped blocks so they fit my board...

I love this swap, just to see the wonderful variety of block patterns that are used and the interesting choices made on fabric prints and colors. Moosegirl

Winter012 those are gorgeous blocks, they are so cheerful, and that pattern is great, what is the name of it?

Alu keep your eyes open for a squishie, it's headed your way.
You could say it is winging it your ways. The block is blue jays. LOL

Winter012 made a block called 'rainbow wheel' she found on the quilter's cache. It was 7" or so in the original pattern. I really like what she did with it. I just may have to make a few more to go rolling over my quilt!
