If you cut two sides at a time it might work. but I think you'd have better accuracy with my template. I have your address if you want a template.
to answer your question if you use a 1 1/2" template and make sure your seam allowances are 1/4" you should have a 6 1/2" quilt block

I've been reading through the earlier pages -- tons of info! But now I realize that I can't get through them all, so I've stopped at page 90. Now I will just move forward. It feels good to let the other 110 pages go ... I guess I'm just too OCD to have stopped sooner!

Thanks it's really just a simple block and probably is out there somewhere in cyberland. but this one is mine. I won't claim to have invented it tho as I really don't know if it's been done before. but probably has.
You can take most any of my quilt blocks and turn them into scrappy but doing what I did with this one.
