At the end of 2007 I left the reporting arena to work with my husband. I'm in charge of designing covers and inside pages for the books he prints.
I still write for some Spanish newspapers a weekly column. And I have a published book that compiles one year of those columns.
But as much as I love my job, the truth is I'm always counting the hours left before I can come back to my sewing machine. lol.
Can you put a sewing machine at work & cross discipline? I mean you do know the owner quite well :p Tell him you'd be more productive & happy!

I wish I knew Spanish...it would SO come in handy in my neck of the woods!

FAVORITE SEASON:

Kinda of hard to choose. When I lived in NY it was fall. I love the crisp cool air, the leaves and apple picking.

Living in Houston...we really don't have seasons. So, I like anything that isn't Late April - Late Oct here. Right now I'm happy as a lark because it's in the mid to low 40's at night & mid 50-60 during the day. But it'll change again in a few days *grrr*

So, now that we're all here. Has anyone started pulling their masterpieces together?

I've picked my blocks...have to limit it to 5 right now I have 7 and then start gathering fabrics. Probably won't do fabrics until next Friday/Saturday as I'm going to have to go shopping I believe.

All my kids and grandkids live in the same town. I am now remarried and we all spend lots of time together. I did post some pictures of my latest that kept me up late into the hours. It's until pictures and called Garrett's Xmas Quilt.

Talk to you soon... Off to work and year end is a pill.

NAME YOUR TOP 3 FAVORITE COLORS

Here's mine:

1) Purple - any hue just LOVE it!
2) Green - bright/deep Irish greens
3) Blue - again, almost any hue, just find it relaxing and it's the color of my eyes!
I like Redand I especially LOVE batiks but not really into florals although a lot of my stuff ends up with flowers I just don't like the stuff that looks like curtains or the couch. :) Strange I know.

KathyN..Welcome! Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

klarina...sounds like you are very busy. Sweetness had a good suggestion! A sewing machine at work!

frogquilter...I don't think it strange, we each have our own tastes. What is Redland? Is it a fabric line?
