Sorry for the delay everybody. I never got a notice about this link, but have been having computer problems. I lost my MIL last Sept., my FIL in April and my precious Daddy Sept. 19 after a long bout with leukemia. Between that a breaking my left wrist all the way through tripping at the carnival (just settled lawsuit), totalling my car and having my 3 day old $500 Android phone stolen, it's been a bit rough lately.
I am 51 years old. I have one child, a 29 year old son who was married in April to a lovely, caring social worker named Erin. Two hours before the pix from their reception is when I was told my FIL had passed. My son, Brandon, is a TEXAS A&M graduate. So, I guess we have a major rivalry going in the group already. His major Christmas present was a pewter A&M door knocker with their last name engraved on it. His is a CPA/MBA and supervisor at Price Waterhouse in Houston. They just sold their townhouse (2 miles from downtown), and are planning to move to a gated community near The Woodlands (north Houston). Finally got a commitment that I would have grandchildren "within" 5 years.
I heard some concern about the fact that I live on the road. Should not be a problem. My friend Rajean (HisPatchwork on the Board) sends my meds, etc. to me about twice a month. I'll send her a priority mail stamp and she'll get an address to send it out to me the day after receiving it, or if you would rather send it priority yourself, just let me know, and I'll give you the address where I'll be. Been doing this for years, and haven't had but one or two problems, and none with priority mail.
I am terribly excited and this is not my first swap on the road. Somehow it all manages to fall into place.

Just to put in my two cents worth, due to my lifestyle, I liked "Traveling Threads", but I understand that you needed to vote and I wasn't available. Am okay with anything y'all had to do in my absence (it wasn't be choice, sniff, sniff). Just kinda explain this whole process to me in plain English, as it seems a bit convoluted reading thru the thread. My them is brown/blue/green kitchen fabrics. Pattern is not as important as the theme. This quilt is for me, and I am excited. It will be going in out new gently used (32,000 miles) motorhome which has just been reupholstered, carpeted, etc. in tans. Hence, the darker colors. Am hoping some of you are more talented that I am. I do have both my Janome sewing machine and embroidery machine with me on the road, and enough stash to fill up the entire underside of the bed. Hehe! I'm expecting a great group who grows closer to each other as the project goes on and can possible meet each other one day.
God Bless. Cherie

FQ Stash Queen,
I am so sorry for the loss of your MIL and father. I am planning to use quilting to help me recover from similar losses. I lost my Dad in July, actually from 2 yrs of Leukemia similar to your DF, and then lost my mom about a month ago. I am doing LOTS of swaps and such to keep me busy!
As far ast the name, unfortunately "Traveling Threads" is already taken by Group #9 :(
I'm excited about this swap and know we will have tons of fun!! I think when you get your starting row done, it will be more clear what you are going for. I know at least a couple of folks have already finished theirs but don't worry, mine is still being drafted on paper!! We have til Feb. 15th to get it mailed so I am shooting for Feb. 1st :D
Looking forward to getting to know you!
