Great idea! I have some great shell, sea grasses and stone printed fabrics! When we got married last year, I made my maid of honor a quilt for coming out for the wedding and I made it all in 'beachy' type fabrics. (glee) I can't wait to use them again!

I've never had to insured any project before and my question is how does the PO work do you tell them how much you want it insured for and if so how much should I have it insured for?

Qbee did not state this. However I would do it for at least the amount of the materials. I was thinking at least $100 in the beginning. It isn't much cost and saves alot of worry.

I will ask at when I go to the post office about mailing /insured package. I will begin my row this week, it will be rather simple, it will set the theme. I also am going to pick up 5 mailing envelopes and date them for mailing and address them. I really want to make sure I am organized and on time. I am in several swaps, and preparing the mailing envelope which I note on the outside which swap and mail date keeps me punctual. I actually put a note inside the empty mailing envelope who it is going to ,deadlines, and forum name.

I will pick up a journal/notebook today and put my info about the row robin. I need to decide on sashing fabric too. Looking sew forward,shoud be sew much fun.

Sounds like a plan Cuppy! I got my journal this past Tuesday. Think I'm going to wash my fabric today and get things set up. Maybe start cutting strips for my back ground fabric. How's everyone else doing? I know one of our gals has her whole row done. Boy, do I feel behind Right now, I have two pooped pups on me that are telling me I can't move.

I finished my row today - well, it is sewed. I still have to do the blanket/zig zag stitch (can't decide which just yet) on the cats. I'll take a picture and post it soon. I have the 12 1/2" strips cut for the blocks and will include them in the package. I am also including some brown which I will ask everyone to use a bit of in their row (to blend all rows together) and some scraps which can be used (at the sewer's discretion) to do the same. I'll go looking for the journal and start 'posting'.
Cuppy, are you sure the mailing envelopes will do? They should work for your first submission, but the second one you send will be two rows and the third will be three rows. Won't the work, with the journal be too much for that envelope? Just asking, in case. By the time we all get to row 3 or 4, I think we'll be working on a small box and of course by the time we get it returned, it'll be in a medium size box - or at least I would think so.

There is the lightweight bag envelpoe, that is what I receive a lot of packages in, otherwise I will go larger with a box. I am still waiting on some fabric I ordered from hotdiggitydog.com.

Okay. Took a picture of the row that will be making the rounds. It's from the side so that I could get the whold thing in the picture. The quilt below it is of a Quilt of Valor I am working on. Like I said, I'll be sending the 12" sashings and some scraps to use here and there so that the whole quilt 'blends'.

Great row! Just hope I can do it justice when it comes my way.

I spoke with Qbee and explained my theme and sizes. My theme is triple irish checkerboard chain. The unfinished blocks will be 12", which means my rows will be 12x60. This is fine with me and has been approved by Qbee. I will be sending info with my rows for everyone in case there are questions. Yyayayya, I was really hoping I'd still be able to do this one. It has pieces of every quilt I've made, including my brother's qul;t, my new cousin's quilt and all the dog collars I've made. Lots of good memories.
