Annaquilts,
Did you want your rows joined, basted together, or left unattached?

best,
d

Thumbs up

Unattached will be fine. Oh could you add that to the info sheet I enclosed? Thanks!
Does this mean you are already at that point? Do we get to see pictures. LOL I am not good at waiting.

Annaquilts,
You silly girl - you give me way too much credit thinking (or is it hoping) that I have your row done. Making the decision is the longest part of my process -remember how much I tormented over my machines and what I ended up with?

Actually, once I decide between structures or stratum it shouldn't take me long to start and complete the row. Right now I'm torn between giving your row a base or creating the row with other types of buildings (nope, not telling you what I've drawn out). I have your row up on my wall and I keep feeling the need to ground it.

I will be happy to jot down on your sheet that you would like your rows to remain unattached. Would you also like me to add that you would like to see a photo of all the rows as each row is completed?

best,
d

Cool

LOL I am super curious but if people want to torment me that is OK too. I think it would be fun though to post as we go and keep the list active and chattering. What is done normally? If you want to add a 3 in. finnished size strip in between you are welcome to. That is what I will most likely do for sashing. I plan to make the sashing scrappy. Maybe simple blocks or just piano keys made of all scraps. I just know I did not want a plain strip.

I am still waiting on my row to come so I am glad to hear you are not done yet. LOL With Christmas and New Year in there I will not have much time if any to work on it till mid Jan. Yes, for me the time to think and design takes the longest too. I love that part of quilting.

Quiltermomma,
Your row looks great! I have been tucking away images of animals for potential use in your quilt.

Are you able to tell me the name of the quilt block which is green, purple and white print? Are the middle blocks around each edge paper pieced?

best,
d

You have to wait till I get home to tell you which one it is. I got them all out of the book I have, Voices of the Past II.

None of them are paper pieced, all cut and pieced. They went together pretty good. had to rip the one you asked about and redo to get my center points right. THen the rhino is done by my machine and the elephant by hand. I have the lions sketched out, just not done. I may add one more row of my own when I get it back. We will see. Merry Christmas All!!!!!

The block is called Madame CJ Walker. For the four sides, I used Eleanor Burns ruler to make those. It works so cool. I sewed two strips of fabric together then cut it down with her star point rulers. Was easier than following the measurements for me.
