Oh... I am actually laughing right now... not crying. Hopefully it will show up sooner or later. My label was already "lost", so I guess my center decided to get lost too.

I am enjoying doing the rounds for others.

As for replacement cost with insurance... according to the post office (when I asked the last time I sent a top with insurance), you must have a quilt top appraised in order to collect money for a lost package, regardless of how much insurance you put on the package. If you haven't gotten an appraisal, then you MUST have receipts for the fabric used in the quilt and verification (i.e. a picture) with how much material was used, in order to receive compensation for the loss of material. (They do not consider the hours put into the work part of the loss.)

So, because of this, it is difficult to recoup any money for a lost quilt (unless appraised), if the USPS does not deliver it to the correct address.

Well, that makes NO SENSE at all!! If you can't get money for it what's the sense in paying for insurance????? I don't get it.
Anyway, I would be happy to make you a center and start sending it around if you don't have the time or energy to do it. I know it won't be the same, but at least you would have a project in the end.

Misty Marie - I am really sorry about your quilt center not getting delivered to the right address. I will gladly offer to work on another center again for you if that is how you would like for us to handle this. I would like to leave the option up to you on how you want us to handle this since it was your center that hasn't been delivered. Please let us know what you would like and I am sure everyone will be more than willing to comply with your wishes.

I know that collecting insurance from the USPS is almost impossible but if we at least do delivery confirmation than it gives us a tracking number that supposedly the package is tracked by.

    Thanks,
    Jessica

Thanks for being so concerned about my center going missing. I think ya'll are mighty sweet.

I haven't given this another thought today. I don't own a single quilt (besides baby quilts given to my kids when they were born and a few small doll quilts) that has been made within the last fifty years, so maybe it wasn't meant to be. :P

I keep giving away all my finished quilts because I like to bless others with them. This was going to be my first "kept" quilt since I didn't make it.

I will think about making another center (or buying a panel) this weekend and just hope that my original center shows up.
