How's everyone doing? Judith - I saw your HST's on the other post. Looks good!!

Everyone please keep in mind a couple things:

* good, strong light/dark contrast is important in the success of these blocks ((please avoid a light print paired with a white background fabric))
* there are lots of choices available for the light side of our HS blocks in addition to the white, white tone-on-tone, or off-white mentioned in the instructions. Think: neutrals or small prints with a white or off-white background.

I'm a huge Bonnie Hunter fan and she has a wonderful article on Neutrals.

http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2013/...-neutrals.html

I encourage you to consider using the types of prints shown in the first image in her article. However, I'm not so sure the Winney the Pooh print further down in her article would work in our blocks. LOL - - -

Thanks JClinganrey. This opens us up to using some very interesting fabrics in our scrap quilt. Thanks for choosing such a great design. I made a 2-fabric Hunters star once and it was rather boring. This has been anything but boring. I am spending a lot of time hovering over my fat qtrs trying to choose great matches for my swap group. I got a wonderful pkg in the mail from my swapper and I keep dreaming of what mine will look like when it is done. Thanks for your hard work and for doing this several months in a row. Your dedicated member, Jane

Laid out the blocks from August (two sets or 12 blocks) with some I made that I will keep. Finished my two sets for September but am headed out of town for most of the week, so they will go in the mail when I return. I want to play with the layout up until the end, so I will not do blocks of 4 as you did, Jane.

Jane, thank you for the link on how to view neutrals. As I'm putting my blocks together, I know that there are a few of these blocks I won't send. There is not enough contrast. And, I'm okay with that. Sometimes, I get it in my head that I need to use a certain fabric. Sometimes, I just need to see that it's not quite what I thought. Thankfully, it looks like the sizes are okay and that most of my blocks will work and I will post a photo when I have them done.

Hi Jane, Could you put me down for 5 sets. Here is a photo of the blocks I will be sending. Minus the yellow/brown block toward the bottom. I'm going to pull that one and re-do it. The light doesn't read light enough for me. I have it set up like a rainbow right now. Who knows if it will stay that way or not. Do you think the others are okay? I can pull a few more if necessary. I love color and prints. But, the next batch I make will have less prints in the light side. That way when the quilt is made up, it will have the light prints and lighter prints more evenly space. (Does that make sense?)

Hope yall like what I made. I can't wait to send these in.
