Takes me back to the days of Furbies  My kids were too old for them but I had a niece that "JUST HAD TO HAVE ONE !" and back then no internet to search for one :? And then there was the year with Elmos...

My grandmother bought me a furby... I was too old for it too but I wanted it!
I have no idea what happened to it, though.

There was also a time in the mid-90s where Tamagotchi was the huge Christmas fad. I had one, and I saved up my allowance for EVER to buy one for my best friend when we exchanged gifts and she ended up giving me lip gloss... lol!

Does anyone else remember Tamagotchis or Nano pets?

How about Cabbage Patch dolls?
Does anyone besides me remember
those and how hard it was to find
one at Christmas?
I remember reading in the paper about
people fighting over them in the stores!

OMG cabbage patch dolls. I was on a wait list to get one for my DD. When Toys R Us got in the shipment and I went to get the doll you had to go into their storage room. They had the dolls locked is a small room that had bars instead of windows. You had to give the SECURITY guard the post card you received notifying you that it was in. Then you had to show your drivers license so that the addy matched the addy on the post card. You couldn't have someone else pick it up for you. Talk about insanity!!!!!!!!!!! HHHUUUUMMM wonder where that doll is now.

I do! My son wanted a boy. My daughter wanted one with glasses.
It was insane. I also was on a waiting list at Toys r us. It was 30 miles away. My dg now plays with them. My kids are 30 & 27.

I still have an original Cabbage Patch Kid. Also have a Tomaguchi too! lol My oldest HAD to have one!!
Didn't get the Furbies...girls weren't interested.

I did read reviews on the Hamster thingy....most of them weren't good. They said that kids would play with them for about an hour, then that was it, kids got bored with them and never played with them again.....oh well.......I am SOOO glad my kids are big!!

My boxes are being very well behaved today...must be in honor of the holiday

I remember going with a friend to the Morman church and learning how to make the Cabbage patch dolls and then making three of them for the grandchildren. I had more fun learning some really neat tips on soft sculptering from that class. Anyway when I started working on the kid's dolls I was home and was drinking some wine as I played and one thing led to another and ended up making a cabbage patch daddy with all the parts. He still sits in our bathroom but usually has a face cloth over his bottom half. LOL He also has a handlebar mustach.
