    September 2018 Pincushion Swap

    Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the September 2018 Pincushion Swap. You must be signed up by the 30th September 2018 as partners names will be sent out between 1st and 2nd October 2018. You must have mailed by the 8th October 2018 (it would normally be the 6th, but it is a Saturday). This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses.

This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to.

Before signing up, please read the rules below:

    Rules

As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours!

    1. This is a secret swap.
    2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to.
    3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part.
    4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (so 6 in a year)– but you only take part in the months that you
    sign up to.
    5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses!
    6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate.
    7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion.
    8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher -just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it.
    9. You must mail your item with 4 days of receiving your person’s name.
    10. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations.

Sign-ups will start now and close on the 30th September 2018 for this round.

When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells.

So come on, join in and have some fun!

    Hugs

    Caroline

Wish I could CarolinePaj but not sure if we will be on the road to Florida or just getting there and not unpacked yet. The dates are just to close to call and not sure how fast I can get the internet back up and running but I'll sure being looking in to see what everyone makes.

I got mine in the mail today! It has a ways to travel though...

I also tried something new...stuffing the pincushion with steel wool. Anyone ever try that? I got the idea somewhere (and it made sense) that if the pincushion were used, the steel wool can help keep the pins sharp. But I have to tell you, I made a big mess with it! I had that stuff all over the table, on my ironing board and even a few little pieces in my finger. I ended up tossing my ironing board cover. So, interesting experience all around with this one!

    Happy sewing!

Mine should be delivered very soon. It did not have far to go. Mine also does not have a card. I was concentrating on getting mine in the mail on Monday that I totally did not think about a card. Hope my partner likes her pincushion. I plan to make one for my collection.

Delivery confirmation says mine was delivered yesterday. I have to stop by the Post Office this morning to check to see if mine has arrived.

Mine also arrived. It reminds me of a lily pad. There was an assortment of straight pins included. There was also a tassle with lots of antiqued brass sewing charms attached. A big thank you for my lovely package.
