Summer 2016 2.5 Charm Swap sign up ends Aug 5, 2016

Is this swap going to be sets of 30 fabrics again? I'm planning on getting a head start on making up the sets of 2.5" squares soon, because Mary the Curious Quilter has her swap starting on October 6th, which I plan to participate in too but don't want to get confused with! She has sets of 100! Maybe I'm being imprudent taking on two different swaps, but I think I have it all under control

I've been in multiple swaps at once, (QB-2, Curious Quilter-1, international buddies-4) . The secret is labeling what gets shipped & where, what arrives & from where using different listed sheets of paper (Word Doc/Excel) & checking items off as you send or receive. Also, a good idea to keep a labeled swap set for yourself so you know exactly what was sent. I "retire" the leftover fabric for my quilting projects and/or wait two years before using that fabric in another swap to avoid sending duplicates to the same swappers.
50 charms is required in the Fall swap on Quilting Board with Central Shipping (host) to save on postage.
It was a lot of fun swapping with the Curious Quilter but I can no longer swap there as individually assigned swapper shipping hurts my tight pocketbook. In one swap I spent about $70 shipping which included overseas sets, USA sets & newbie gift sets. I'd rather buy fabric with the postage money saved, IMHO!!! She does allow you to swap all of them during the same swap which is great for collecting for varied projects.
Hugs,
dj

Yes, I will have to find out more details about Curious Quilter swap before I commit. Like you, I don't want t spend too much money in shipping costs. Is your October swap going to have 30 or 50 candies to each set? I want to cut already so it would be good to know.

15"x5" swatch will get make 12 charms (I always add 1/4" all the way around just in case). You then have 10 to trade, 1 to keep, 1 to label until swap is over then trade next swap to a new swapper or keep for next project!
