I am so excited about this idea. I had a magnetic strip that I almost threw away last week. After I read this suggestion I immediately began to think, but where would I keep the wooden stick. My machine sits in front of a window. BUT get this. The magnetic strip is currently stuck to a metal file cabinet that is supporting the table top for my sewing machine. I just had/have to move the magnet to the other side of the drawers so that it is within reach as I sew. I don't even need the stick! Thank you, thank you.

I store bobbins on wooden stirring sticks (coffee stirrers). It means that you can store matching bobbin and thread,saves you hunting the next time you want to use it. I stick these in a container with polystyrene packing block .It means you can see at a glance ,keeps them upright and free from unravel.
Usually these sticks are 1/4 inch ,super for quick guide. Use to push out corners. Many uses from the humble stirrer at low cost.

I love the idea and will pass it on. I use the plastic for mine, but I can't wait to try it for small scissors, seam rippers and whatever else I find. I'm thinking that a hole drilled in one end and a small nail in the side of the sewing cabinet will work. Thanks and I'm betting you win a subscription!
