Default Has anyone tried this?

I want to get a piece of pegboard and paint it with blackboard paint so I can use a piece of chalk to outline everything I have hanging on it so it will be easier to keep things in the same place all the time. I hope this makes sense. And does anyone know if the blackboard paint comes in a spray can?

If anyone has done this, how did it work out?

Haven't tried this, but it sounds like a great idea.

I have seen cans of blackboard paint and you could use a roller to put it on. My peg board has way too much stuff on it to work with an outline.

Sounds like a good idea if I only had a place for a pegboard.

I'm sure I've seen that kind of paint in a can. I sure wouldn't want to try to paint pegboard any other way. I did that one and the paint pooled in the holes.

Great idea....good luck with your idea. I've only seen the brush-on kind of black-board or chalk-board paint, but then I really haven't looked for it either.

I have done it in reverse for my tools. I have regular pegboard on my tool bench and used a black marker to outline tools so I would know where they were to be returned. Inside the drawers as well. Works well enough that picky brother liked it so much he went home and did it on his.

I haven't used the spray paint but I have used the brush on. I did the bottom half of a wall in the playroom for my grandkids. It works great ...except... it doesn't have the smooth surface that purchased chalk boards have. It is a bit rougher where an eraser only smears the chalk around instead of removing it. You have to use a damp cloth to clean it off. I put magnetic primer under it then 3 coats of the chalkboard paint. Since I put 3 coats of paint on top of the primer it isn't very strong to hold heaver magnets if you want to hang up paper or pictures etc. Also Lowe's has a brush on chalk board paint that you can tint to other colors that just black.

What a great hint. I sure could have used that when I switched quilting rooms.

Don't waste time painting and chalk outlining ..........just use the pegboard .....I have a wall of it and the hangings on it keep changing!
