So your sewing area must be near your kitchen? My kitchen has way too much kitchen stuff for me to use as cutting table and nowhere near where I sew......

My sewing room is directly straight across from the kitchen. It is behind the white door. I keep my island empty, as it is a multipurpose surface. Luckily, my kitchen has enough storage so I can put "stuff" away. But, it has either quilting stuff on it or food preparation items. I try not to mix them up, as I tend to be a creative chef. ( that is a nice way of saying I make a mess when cooking.) LOL
Thanks everyone for the comments. I am really enjoying using the island. When I finish organizing in my sewing room, I will post pictures of that.

That is very nice and very smart of you to think of it in a dual purpose way. Congratulations!

This is lovely! Hope the fabric wins over food. Suggest the four food groups: 1. take out, 2 go out, 3. thaw out, and 4. send out! Your new island is beautiful and believe you will have hours of enjoyment creating. Smiling for you, Snowrose

Thanks Amy Jo. When I posted it, I used my Ipad and it was right side up. Don't know how it ended up like that. (I'm sure it was the Ipad police!!)
