My Sewing Area - finally a space to call my own!

So I've never had a dedicated sewing area; it's always just been me sitting at a tiny, wobbly desk with the computer keyboard shoved aside and cutting on a tiny mat on a tiny kitchen table. Then we bought a diningroom table which, much to my husband's dismay, acquired all of my sewing gear - in all its glory.

Now that we're leasing a new, bigger place, I could actually set up an area in the basement for all of my sewing stuff, and I'm really excited about it.

    Here are the pics!

New machine! LOVE IT!! - Singer 9960

    LOVE my table-top ironing board!

What a great set up, I love all the space!

Hubs even picked me up a carpet in the 'As Is' section at IKEA for $20 -
didn't want my feet to get cold in the winter!
thank you so much for looking!

It is a nice light, but it's taking some getting used to. These new blue-ish LED lights on machines nowadays I find are a lot harsher on my eyeballs than the good ol' incandescent bulb on my 1970's Brother. But it is nice to have such a well lit area!

Great to have a place to leave work in progress and not have to worry about it being in the way.

My sewing space is my dinning room table. Poor honey buns has to eat on my cutting mat sometimes.Good sport doesn't say a word. Told me he was going to build me a craft room for myself and grand kids for monster night. He has it all planned.I told him it was to small. He just shook his head.

Good for you! A dedicated space is so nice, and what a sweet fella you have to buy you a carpet.
