Cant believe its all mine!
 

Two years ago we bought our first house and I got a big loft as my quilting studio. Yay!
It still needs tons of work (like nice lights and hardwood floor) but it already looks the way we wanted. See that huge recliner? That was planned for my DH way before we found the house :)

Your quilting room is gorgeous. I really love it. Can you keep it orderly, as the pictures show, when you are working on a project? I am moving from a specially built quilting room just for me, to a tiny bedroom quilting room. I have to downsize drastically. I am planning on organizing containers and storing them in the basement so that I can find what I want when I need it, but I know it will be a hardship. Even so, I have to down size and move to a small home since my husband passed away recently. Enjoy your wonderful area.

I am so jealous! With that much space I just might be able to keep my sewing area tidy and organized.

Yes, he comes to sit with me and watch tv. Really looks picture perfect sometimes, lol.

We made a frame with window trim and stapled batting to the back starting from the mid-points. Then mounted it to the wall as an oil painting, we just used three nails because of the size. The batting is flush to the wall. So far so good.

I came a long way from a dining room table in a kitchen to this room, so i do remember how tight and inconvenient it was before.

Clean? No way, I wish. When in process it is a huge mess. I just clean every time before i start a new project. It helps :)

What a beautiful room -- how nice to have a spot where your hubby can spend time with you. My room isn't very big and is completely full! I won't ever have any as big and nice as yours -- enjoy it you deserve it.

That is the neatest sewing area I think I have ever seen. I'm sure it looks like all of our areas once we're working on projects.

You sure have a lot of space! I like my cutting table behind my back (when facing my Bernina) so it's so really simple for a twist to the chair to go from sewing to cutting. Be very careful with indirect light because it can fade your fabrics over a few years.

Thank you. I like your setting but i put my space in a triangle for a purpose to get up and walk every time i need iron or cut. Helps with my knee problem a lot.
About the light i agree with you, me is from CA too. I just hope new windows we put recently with all that needed numbers by code will protect my stash.

I love the way the fabric is perfectly organized and easily visible for selection. But how do you organize your scraps or smaller pieces, like fat quarters and such? I need help in that area, desperately...
