I have a slotted oval board that holds my most used rulers on the desk that my sewing machine is on. I have taped a seam ripper to the right side of my sewing machine with the cap upside down so that it is always there. I also keep a small scissors on the right side of my machine next to the pincushion/string catcher.

I have a clear plastic cart under the desk...top drawer hold rotory cutters and blades, measuring tapes, bobbins, small scissors...Middle drawer hold tools ie..screw drivers, pliers, brushes and my big scissors.. bottom two drawer hold my cone threads.

I have a double sided tool case for my regular sized threads..holds 48 threads.

I keep a small pair of scissors hanging on the front of my machine with a sun catcher suction cup. Before that my knitted pincushion held a pair of scissors and my seam ripper.

here are two that I have and work great for me. The first I made from this very pattern. It is really handy in that the pockets on the sides hold all kinds of things while the center is open for bigger items. It fits over a plastic bucket you can purchase at Lowes or Home Depot type places. the second one I bought at Staples years ago and it sits on my cutting table, holds scissors, rotary cutters, tape measure, marking pencils, etc.

I have a block similar to a knife block for my scissors. Next to that I have a muffin tin with plastic cups in it. It holds pens, marking tools, pencils, small rulers and a few screwdrivers, tweezers, etc. And, I have a 12 inch lazy susan that I lay bobbins, machine feet, small clippers, small scissors (the stuff you grab, use quickly and lay down). I use silverware drawers in some drawers for organization of things that don't need to be close at hand. I have small drawer dividers to store needles. I have one of those cabinets with lots of drawers for lots of small stuff (well labeled) I also have a shoe organizer hung on a door to hold tapes, ribbons, etc.

I use an old TV remote container for scissors, rotary cutters, pens, pencils, markers, etc. Works great!

I really like my Sew Together Bag. I made mine, but I noticed several people selling them on Etsy.

I've used a wicker picnic silverware holder. You can spray paint these to match your decor.

I have a wooden silverware tray that I use on my sewing table to hold my most frequently used tools.

I also have several mugs that friends have given me with quilting themes that I use for my scissors. I got some thick foam and cut circles to go in the bottoms of the mugs. Then I covered the foam with scrap fabric. This keeps the points of the scissors from blunting.
