As others have suggested, the size of this project could be varied to accommodate storing things other than freezer paper rolls, so do what works for you. The overall length was designed to be just the right length to clear the top of my quilting table enough so that I hope it won't interfere when there's a quilt "in progress" on the table. I spaced the slings evenly over the length of the backing, and that came out to be about 6 3/4 inches between each one. Is anyone interested in a tutorial on this? It would be fun to do one if anyone wants it. :D Wendy |
Cute, clever and handy too :D:D:D

Thanks for sharing such a great storage solution!

Wow! What a clever idea. You should send your idea to some quilting magazines. It would probably be published.

I've been organizing my sewing studio and decided to make use of some vertical space for storing all those patterns and quilting designs I've drawn on freezer paper. So...I made this today and tacked it up beside my new quilting table. Seems like this would work well for other things on rolls like embroider stablizer too... I used quilting fabric and Timtex to make this. The back is one pannel of Timtex covered with fabric on both sides. I made tubular slings of quilting fabric also stiffened with Timtex and sewed them across the top to the back pannel. The whole thing is about 36" long and 20" wide. Wendy What a great way to get them off needed shelf space and off the floor and out of drawers. |

Great idea. You have found the perfect solution. Do you have any other ideas for storage? I am very limited on my space.
thanks, Diane |
Great idea and I may just use it. Thanks for the creativity

Like this one better than the one Nancy's Notions has. Your tube area is larger and your colors are a lot prettier. Great idea!
|
I like that for organizing. What is Timtex?
|
Good idea.

Very nice. I am going to do something like this. I am glad that I saw yours and read you used Timtex. I hadn't thought of using a stiffener but I see it makes a difference. Yours looks great!
