I can still remember when I got the whim to fold all my fabrics onto comic book boards. As I had put my sewing room into storage while my house was on the market, I got bored while waiting so started purchasing more fabrics, machine, etc. till it sold. Once I got moved, etc, I started pulling out the totes filled with fabrics and found I had duplicate fabrics. Obviously I must have liked that fabric a lot to buy it twice.......:-) Anyway, it took me a week and over 1,000 comic book boards to fold all my fabrics. Now I wait till I have empty boards before I go out to buy more fabrics. Plus I have no room for more anyway. Still have dress fabrics in plastic totes waiting for a space on the shelves.

And yes, I have lost fabrics in the past so now when I bring home new fabrics or they've been shipped to me, they get put onto the ironing board in plain sight until I unpack them, measure them and then fold onto boards. Haven't lost any more fabric this way.

here's what i'm thinking....why not take photos of the fabric i have & then all i have to do is look on the computer to see what i have...that way i won't get hurt when i open up the closet & it all comes out on the floor....LOL i've been putting off trying to separate/organize my stash for too long.....i'm just tired of looking for that one piece...

The subject line caught my eye. Too much fabric? Well that's just crazy talk. There's no such thing! Personally I think until you make it on an episode of Hoarders - The Fabric House, you're good. :D
