We just moved in July, so still working on my room, I have a extra bedroom for my sewing room.

I haven't posted a pic in quite a few years, so I'm just testing the waters here to see if this comes out right. If it does I will try to post more later.

This is my 'new' studio as of Aug 2014 when we moved from New Orleans to Texas. It was the formal living room, hence no closet, so I had to be very creative to get things to fit!

It sounds like your space is about the size of mine. I quilt daily in this little space & when weather permits while I'm doing the FMQ, I work outside on our deck with a 6' folding table to hold the bulk of my big quilts. I even utilize the curtain rods beside my chair with S-hooks for all my scissors & things I can hang.

My sewing space is 7' X 10' one good thing about it is a nice closet for storage. I can just turn around in my chair from my sewing table and I'm at my cutting board and at one end of that is a small ironing board. It works for me!

I use peg board as well. Great for hanging everything.

All of your rooms are very nice.
I have a room that has two big closets with wire shelves. They hold my fabrics (lots) and batting. I love it and use it almost everyday of the year. I work full time or I would be in there all day also.

There are a lot of organized people on this board. I got a lot of ideas from the pictures and post. Thanks everyone!

Quote: A space to call your own is great no matter the size. If you can put up some pegboard, it makes a great place to store your tools so they don't clutter your work area.
Oh, I have a 4x4 foot pegboard, but too many things on each peg qualified for making up an Excel spreadsheet so I can find everything cuz I don't have space to find a spot elsewhere for the items and I don't have time to look on the pegswhen I need it so SEARCH on EXCEL works great! Ugh.

I too appreciate all the pictures. I finally got my own sewing room - a small bedroom in this house. We also have a dry basemnet where I am going to keep the small stash that I have in a couple of plastic bins on a shelf. Since I am one of those odd people who doesn't keep a big stash and who works on one project at a time I think the room will stay "neatish" because quilting does make its own mess. Other house I Had no dedicated space and it was so frustrating to find things and to keep putting things away. This one I can just pull the door closed - we are close to IKEA so all the suggestions using their storage are finally within my grasp.

So thanks to everyone who is sharing.
