I'm cleaning up my sewing room. Found a office chair at a garage sale and looks just like new for $3.00. Found a tackle box for $1.00. I found a tackle box works good for storing things. Tackle box works for taking thing to sewing classes and quilt retreats.

I'm continuing to clean my sewing room. Re-organizing fabrics into better boxes and bins, etc. Sorting through stuff on my sewing table too. I can re-home unwanted fabrics, notions, books etc. to my MIL and her group of sewing friends, or to the local thrift shop. It's nice to have more free space on the table, and the room is more functional.

Hubby just built me shelves in the basement for fabric. The scrappy parts aren't done yet, but the yardage is on foam board and put away. Evenutally the sewing room will be room(s). The long skinny one for the longarm and fabric shelves, and then a work space attached to it. I will be sharing this space (including the shelves) for a dear friend that is always over to sew with me. I am still so excited it makes me giddy!

Redstilettos: Where did you get the shelving units? I have been looking for some like those that can have as many or as few shelves as you want in them.

Oksewglad:I totally understand to letting it go.

RetiredTeach: We got them at Menards. Do you have those by you? These have nice thick boards. We went with the 2' shelves so they wouldn't warp so badly over time.

Oksewglad: I know how hard it is to let go. For me, I had a lot of yardage that was "too good to get rid of" but I really didn't care for it anymore. My girlfriend is getting into quilting, and is on a VERY limited income, so I gifted them to her. She is Thrilled. Maybe you can find someone who's just starting out and in need? Sometimes giving it away is easier when it is helping someone out that really appreciates it

Thanks for the support. I have given to my sister who makes for Project Linus, but lives on the East coast, so mailing gets pricey.

Oksewglad: I volunteer with a group called Bundles of Love Charity in MN and they use the fabric for making baby quilts to put in bundles. Maybe there is an organization like this one close to you.
