Sorted out the Christmas and seasonal winter holidays quilt fabric and rolled up into small bundles. Added the smaller WIP on top of the fabrics that fits into a section of a cupboard where I keep my quilt fabric stash, is a small stash. Discarded a lot of free print-outs patterns which I am never going to have time to make, saved only a few favorites.

I started emptying out my RWB 1 1/2" scrap strips...making rail fence blocks from them...meanwhile using those scraps to start on some log cabin blocks...One thing leads to another...

That's why I'm a perpetual member of the UFO challenge. Good job on using those scraps.

On Wed. I took 5 boxes of donations to Goodwill. Yippee!!! Today I am going to straighten my messy art studio and start another Goodwill box. I am also going to be working on a couple of UFOs that have been taking up space for way too long. And I'm still trying to figure out a good way to store my finished quilts. I think maybe I can roll the smaller ones and fit them into those under bed storage units. The lap and bed sized ones are another issue. What to do???

Great to read about everyone's progress! I've started refolding, sorting and putting my stash in my cabinets. I'm definitely getting inspired as I rediscover fabrics that slipped my memory. My shelves are twenty two inches deep so it is really working out. I'm also setting aside some fabric to surprise someone with. That's going to feel really great!

My grandma stored quilts under the mattress (on top the box springs). My mom did the same with ones that didn't fit in the closet space we had. My quilts are stacked on shelves and used as couch covers; my mattress is heavier than I can deal with.

Was speaking with my sister-in-law the other day and she was talking about her mother storing quilts and blankets between the mattress and box springs. They got tired of having to lift the mattress when she wanted a different quilt. Now they store the quilts on top of the mattress and use a larger size fitted sheet on top of that. She has 8 quilts inbetween and on her bed. Not counting the ones she likes to cover with at night. They also have some on the grandkids beds. They have a total of 40+ quilts with easy access. They use them all. 4 generations (6 people)under one roof. They have huge house with a basement and some quilts in the basement. Not one the same.
