Teach, I hear ya. Two nights ago tidied up the sewing room and I felt so proud of myself. Then BAM. Chaos again. I think gnomes are traveling from house to house and having a party. Cutting table has a huge pile of left over fabric I used for three small quilts that needs to back to the fabric room. Now I have to try to train myself to tidy up somewhat every night. Not sure if this old dog can learn this new trick.

Why oh why do we let our rooms get like this! Your confessions make me wonder if i dare go into mine! I want to quilt the baby quilt first...I think I can move around as I quilt before tidying up...

I did get the baby quilt quilted. No injuries reported.

Did the clean up, took a breath and the result was a clearer vision for the special baby quilt I am working on. It didn't take long to clean up. Why did I wait so long? Why do WE wait so long? Sounds like our creative passion is getting us in the mess along with the gnomes, fairies and elves that sneak into our sewing areas when we are not looking. . I was impressed with the number of pins I found on the floor that did not end up in my feet! Still missing a favorite template but it will rise to the surface again soon. It always does.

Good job, WMUTeach! I did get my project quilted and bound so ready to go to the new little one. Then I started cleaning and sorting some scraps...no not a 30 minute job, but as I was sorting I was looking at fabric possibilities for the next quilt, I am going to attempt a wonky star quilt with 20 stars and low volume background. Working on the layout and sizes now.

Today was church sewing group meeting. We spent a couple of hours organizing. I convinced the group we didn't need all those sheets. As fitted sheets are more worn than companion flats we eliminated the fitted sheets...one could tell they were well worn. Also took care of the the 3 boxes of empty plastic bags...made for a lot of extra space. Now have some finished tops to match up with backings etc. Oh it looks so much neater already and all felt we made progress.
