About Kaye..... Kaye had a heart attack last night. They took her to the hospital where she coded. The Drs brought her back, but sadly, during surgery to implant a pacemaker, she died. Thank you so much for all of your love and well wishes. We will be gathering in Phoenix to figure out what to do next. The office will be closed this week.
She will be missed greatly!

Kaye Wood
I just learned that Kaye Wood passed away this week. She will be missed. A lovely, generous, funny, smart lady who made tremendous contributions to quilting.
I was at the Puyallup Sewing and Stitchery Expo one year when a snow storm stranded Fons and Porter in the mid-West. They were supposed to present the evening's entertainment, so Kaye Wood stepped in at the last minute. She was so funny, her act could have headlined at Vegas, at least if quilters were in the audience. The reviews were so great, she was invited to give the show the following year as well.
Puyallup offers short courses (45 minutes?) for just a few dollars throughout each day. They are taught by first class teachers, and are a good way for quilters (especially new quilters) to learn something about each instructor's quilting methods and tools. A friend went every year and took every session of every Kaye Wood class. I wondered why - and then found out Kaye gave away a sewing machine at the end of her classes!
As I said, she will be missed, probably by every quilter who ever saw her.
