Default Mountain Quiltfest - Pigeon Forge, TN 3/19/14-3/22/14

I'm counting down until my Smoky Mountain getaway for Mountain Quiltfest! For me, it's a girls' getaway, as I'm going with my mom, my aunt, and also the dog. We've booked a cabin with a beautiful view and will be sewing the night away. Can't wait!!

I love that area. Whenever we visit I always stop by Cherry Pit quilt shop in Sevierville and Mammaw's Thimble fabric and quilt shop in Knoxville. Two of my favorites!

All my quilting friends here in Lafayette look forward to this event every year. Now I am looking forward to it; inviting my sisters for a fun week in the mountains.

I'm talking my DH into going!!!!!!!! We happened upon it a couple of yrs. ago, and he really enjoyed himself watching the bed turning. He even looked at the quilts on display. We should all wear name tags with our board names.

I go most years as I live close by just about couple hours away. If you have a chance go to
Dizzy Divas in Knoxville also Sewing machines etc. Just a couple more I thought I'd tell you
    about.

We went to Pigeon forge last year and what a great area, alot of people for that little town. Anyway, it is a beautiful area and unfortunately none of my family would let me go to any of the quilt stores, even though we drove through Padukah KY, they wouldn't stop. Sometime I will go by myself......LOL

I live half an hour away and have never been. Do the classes always sell out this early? I looked at the site and was disappointed that almost all the classes are already full.

Love those two shops. Don't overlook Pappy's Quilt Store in Maryville and Mountain Stitches by Susan in Gatlinburg. They are wonderful!!

I will be going along with my husband. He enjoys the shows and is learning to use the long arm quilter. He goes on the East Tennessee Shop Hop with me. We have a ball.
