I'll be going to Columbus next month and wondered if anyone can recommend a fabric shop?

Sure can!! I can recommend several! Ohio has some great quilt shops!

These are the main ones right in greater Columbus. If you like other recommendations for a little further out of the city, let me know. I can come up with a list of shops all over the state!

Quilt Beginnings Northwest | 6689 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, OH 43017 (614) 799-2688

Red Rooster Quilts 48 Corbins Mill Dublin, OH 43017 (614)734-9007

The Glass Thimble 3434 N. High Street Columbus OH 43214 614-267-9566

Thank you so much!
This is perfect -
Do you happen to know of any other full-featured sewing shops, too?
I want to look through some patterns and garment fabric while I'm out and about!

There's a really great shop in NW Ohio called The Door Mouse. Aisles and aisles of fabric, plus an upstairs, too. Wonderful quality, excellect selection.

I love all of these and they all have their own style. I can't think of any full sewing shops except JoAnns. There is one on Sawmill and one on Broadstreet, both are large. There is also a Hobby Lobby on Sawmill just up (north) of Quilt Beginnings, which is just across the street and down a little from that JoAnn's.

Central Ohio Quilter got it right. My favorite is Glass Thimble. The people who own and work there are fabulous at helping you with any question or idea.

Central Ohio Quilter gave you the ones here in Columbus which are all great. But if you get the chance and can go you really need to go to The Fabric Shack in Waynesville, Ohio they are south You can look them up on the web.
There is also Amish Country with a few quilt shops close to each other.
