Default New to Board and sharing an event

    Greetings from Gettysburg,
I have just found you all. Hurrah, just starting to explore the forums. I do want to share an opportunity for anyone in the vicinity of Frederick, MD. Tomorrow, July 14, there is a presentation on Civil War Quilts at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, 2 pm. Sorry for the late notice, but here is a link... http://www.civilwarmed.org/calendar/events/view/50

    Best wishes to all,
    Sally Ryan

Oh my word! Another reason to hate WI! It's not next to MD! I LOVE Civil War quilts & fabrics & would LOVE to be able to go to this. And at a medical museum at that (all of my family are in the medical field & I also have an interest in Civil War-era medicine)! NO FAIR!! LOL! Are you going? If so, take lots of pictures & share with us!

Oh, where are my manners? Welcome to this awesome board from an insomniac in the wilds of western WI! A warning... this joint is addictive! LOL! But fun!

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome. Also a great big thank you to the Moderator for moving my post to the appropriate place. That's what happens when a newbie doesn't have a chance to read through all the Forum heading prior to posting.
As to yesterday's Civil War quilt lecture at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick, MD. Mavis did a great job - quite a few quilters present, but not all had a firm grasp of ACW history. Good way to bridge the two topics that I cherish. Also was able to visit with a couple dear friends and to make a new one. Isn't that what sharing is all about? :-)
