Default Phoenix-Quilting in the Desert-Jan 19 -23

Is anyone else here planning on going to "Quilting in the Desert" next week?

I'm going Wednesday evening for classes on Thursday and Friday with Cindy Needham. I'm really looking forward to it!

I took my first vacation day of the year so I could go Friday. I've been making a mental shopping list. Love this show.

Kat, I think you must be thinking of the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival the 29th -31st. I've never been, but it's on my list... What I am attending is this year's "Quilting in the Desert". It's more of a quilt camp where they offer a week of various classes by some pretty well-known instructors at a nice hotel. This year they have Cindy Needham, Leni Levenson Wiener, Velda Newman and Jane Sassaman, as well as a couple by Ginny Goodbar (who I think runs the camp). This is my first time going so I don't know much more about it yet. I signed up because I had taken a couple of Cindy Needham's Craftsy classes and she's offering a whole cloth class and will be talking about whole cloth quilting on vintage linens along with it.

This is only the 2nd "quilt camp" I've been to, the other one is Celebrate Quilts held in the summer up here in Flagstaff so it is close to home. I think that one will be in July this year.

Thanks, borntoquilt! I knew about the one in Tucson the 23rd - 25th, my daughter, who lives in Tucson, is going to that one and had invited me down, but I have to head north on Saturday after my class.

And the 13th Annual Quilting in the Desert is actually being held this year in Gilbert at:
"
This year QID will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton Phoenix-Gilbert."

Oops. I thought it was odd that you found classes, but I wouldn't access them yet for the Phx show. I would love to go to a camp, but I'm still working and can't get the time off yet. Well, I wish you a great time.

,Maybe when I retire..... Hmmmm.

I'm working too, Kat, but I've had this on my calendar for vacation since June!
