janceejan - I feel your pain!

Most of our region is in a cluster from Corpus Christi to my town of El Campo. But one is off my beaten path. There's a nice steak house halfway so a friend and I are going to invite our husbands to a dinner out - with a side trip to the quilt shop thrown in. I know they'll love it. :P (Mine actually does - hers is agreeable even if not a big fan.)

Deb....I still had some extra Stitchin Heaven books to hand at at next week's retreat. We will be thru=sat. Love that you send them.....
Those charms are fun. Gives us more incentive to get out there.
Some of us are planning on the areas around in North Texas....and several come to Quitman as well.
I have to visit Ann Hampton soon near you and see what she is up to. Quilty hugs.

I'm working my way through Region 8 - just 7 shops and a friend and I are going to do most of them next weekend. Went to Lake Jackson's Calico Cat Fabric Shop. It was awesome! Such friendly and helpful people. The lady is the fabric side and her husband does the machine selling and service side. Had lots of fun things to look at. This region has scratch off tickets at each shop. I'm "0 for 2" right now but hope to do better at the other 5 shops next weekend.

The Aggie game was on and there's a big TV in a side room of the shop. Our two husbands just moved in there with the shop husband and the three ladies had a grand old time on the fabric side. This was our first visit to this shop, but we'll certainly be going there again.

Done! Visited the shops in Region 8 of Quilt Across Texas. Last year we had 14 shops that went from Corpus Christi to Nederland - that's the entire Texas coast. Made it to many, but not all. This year we had 7 shops and were able to get them all in. A friend and I went together and made an overnight trip of it. Great fun!
