35th Ave Sew n Vac on 35th ave and Northern is a big shop with fifteen thousand bolts of fabric, many used sewing machines for sale, also new. They have a large selection of long arm setups also.
For reasonable prices on fabric theres Mulqueens on 59th ave and Northern. All fabric is 6.98 a yd.
There are many shops out in Mesa but I dont do that area so dont know about them.

Mulqueen's also has a large store on Main St. in Mesa, just east of Val Vista. Another store in that vicinity, just east of Stapley, is Sally's Fabrics, which also has a huge selection of fabrics and notions.
The 35th Ave Sew and Vac in Tempe, unfortunately, has a pretty limited fabric selection, so you really do need to go to their store on Northern Ave. and 16th St.

There used to be a shop in Scottsdale (north) but I just cannot seem to remember the name - check the phone book or look under yellow pages online. Anyway, you might like to try Quiltz -13825 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix - 602-482-4141. They are near my old neighborhood (weren't there until after I moved!!). A very nice shop and they have 20% off books all the time.
I also spent most of quilting dollars at The Quilted Apple on 24th Street north of Thomas (again check phonebook). Quilter's Ranch (south of Scottsdale) is also nice. I used to shop at Sally's in Mesa but Mulqueen's was not there when I lived in Phx. (left in 2003 but last visited the area in 2006). I do have a copy of The Quiler's Traveling Companion and would be most happy to do some lookups if you would like. Write me offline if you want ([email protected]).
There are lots and lots of shops all over the Valley from one side to the other - would take you days to get to them all.

Oh, forgot to tell you - there are several of the Joann's Etc. stores in the area - one in north Phoenix near my old place and one in north Scottsdale -
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store

(602) 334-9114
It's just off the 101 freeway at Indian Bend - very easy to get to.
