Thanks. They weren't part of the pattern. I found a mistake in the paperpiecing after I had the whole top done and rather than ripping out, I appliqued over it. It covered it up well

Did you you find it hard to do? Ive never down paper piecing and wanted to try it.

It was much easier than I thought! I only experimented one time, with a simple sailboat pattern I got free online. The hardest part is lining up the ones that are angled. I've ripped out a few because I miscalculated. The best advice I can give is to buy more fabric than it calls for. I cut it close on mine...I was getting nervous that I'd have enough. I did, so that was a good thing.
