It depends on whether its size is already what you want. I might put a narrow border of the off-white then another, wider one of the blue, or another larger-scale blue print in the same color range.

Leave it with the dark border, then bind with one of the colors in the quilt.

I agree with this. If you want a bigger quilt, then add a white border and then a large-scale floral print in the same colors (a great excuse to go shopping!)

You quilters are all so kind! This can be a 'lady in waiting' for a while. No rush, no intended recipient.

Yep, maybe I'll just do a little shopping here and there to see what kinds of dark violet fabrics come my way this spring.

And if a gift giving opportunity presents itself before then, I'll just finish it as it is.
