Personally, I would leave it as it is and use the green for binding. It is a very pretty quilt right now.

Binding would be the light green. Not enough purple left.

I love your proposed outer border and would bind with dark violet.

I would just bind it with the same fabric as the existing border. It is beautiful as is.

Beautiful quilt. I also have that pattern(book). Someday I hope to have a quilt that beautiful. :)
