“Pinklet” the 10 minute blocks that took 45 minutes…each
I just got back from a quilting retreat at my sister’s house. I am exhausted! Who knew that laughing and sewing could make you so tired! These are pictures of the quilt that I worked on while there. I had the quilt pretty much put together and sandwiched when I got there and spent most of the week doing FMQ on my little ‘Pinklet’. It’s a twin bed quilt for a guest room and I have another pink quilt in the planning stages for the other bed ( more on that when it is finished).
I always try to learn something new with each quilt and this quilt was a challenge and I posted pics of a few blocks to get input about them. It’s wonderful the way we can get help here when we need it! I traced and colored all the flowers with crayons. I sewed and ripped, sewed and ripped …then fumed and fussed… the ripped again! It is not the best quilting job I have ever done, but the most ambitious. Each circle has a different motif ( I was very close to hating this quilt by the time I started quilting and decided to punish it by practicing my FMQ on it). Now that it is done, even with it’s flaws, I am OK with it and will proudly put it on one of the guest beds.

This is a fabulous work of art. I love the quilting and the effect on the binding is wonderful. I have not seen it done like this before. Awesome. We need a tutorial!
I also love the ric- rac and colored flowers.
peace
