Love your scrappy log cabin. How wide are those strips?

It is beautiful. When you have so many straight lines, a curvy quilting design is great.

Your block layout is amazing! The longer I looked at your photos, the more I saw. In the first photo, I noticed the alternate light and dark centers of each 4 unit block. In the second photo, the strong light and dark diagonals. Back to the first photo, I then noticed the light and dark stars created as a secondary pattern. The narrow red border really emphasizes the distinction between the center and the scrappy border. The scrappy border finishes off the quilt beautifully. I love your whole design!

I did a scrappy quilt for my husband because, to him, that's how you make quilts- he was a little astonished when he first learned that I liked to go out and buy fabric! lol So I knew he'd appreciate the scraps. Most of my stash is hand-me-downs from my quilting grandmother and, boy, I must have a lot, because I don't think this quilt made much of a dent in it! (Especially since I just went and bought more fabric yesterday... for my next project, of course! ; )
My BF also thinks quilts should be scrappy. He says that's what he thinks of when he thinks quilt. I love yours. My first quilt was a log cabin and it is still one of my favorites.
